1. I thought Death as the narrator was an ingenious idea. It especially added to the time period and era of World War II, when the whole world reeked of Death. 3. Of all the characters in the book, I definitely found Rudy most memorable. He was a charismatic boy that held a great charm. All throughout reading the book, I felt a deep connection between Liesel and Rudy. It was like they were destined to meet and spark a friendship. It shows, for me, that we all have that one person who will be able to connect with us. Rudy was so adorable and I absolutely bawled my eyes out at the end of the book.
4. The scene that provoked great emotion for me was definitely the ending. Haha my eyes were puffy after reading it! World War II was such a heartbreaking time and a great loss to humans. The whole world was affected over conflict that most people were not involved in, especially young and innocent children. Liesel was a victim to Hitler's rage, in which he had no part in igniting. Everyone she ever knew was wiped away, and it was just so painful to read. :'(
Again, thanks for inviting me to join the discussion!
