16677 I read this book some time ago. I totally fell in love with Cranky Agnes (though I did not like her name), her frying pan and the lovely descriptions of her cooking. Tough, kick-butt lady that cooks amazing things and solves mysteries..... what's not to love?

I read ALL kinds of stuff (even including Sci Fi). I bet people in this group read a wide variety of books....

16677 The premise of bookcrossing is "read and release". You read a book. You give it website generated id number and you release it. The website promotes "wild" releases - where you leave a book where someone might pick it up randomly. Lots of people do controlled releases (where they send the book to a fellow bookcrosser, or give it to a co-worker). Once you release it, people can journal what they thought of the book and/or how and where they got the book, on the website using the id number.

Bookcrossing is especially good for me because I live in a small apartment, and don't have lots of storage space for all the books I obtain...

Perhaps we could have a separate topic in this group for books that we have available to bookcross. If someone is interested in the book, they could send a message to the poster (or they could just post under the topic).

16677 I'm a Bookcrosser too! My journal rate is extremely low as well, but it is so worth it when you watch your book travel a distance or get a very good review.

16677 In regards to the Stephanie Plum series, I would say read them all. The first two are not as crazy funny as the later ones, but I found that the build up of funny intensity was good for me. I think if I had started with book 3 or 4, I would not have continued reading the series. (You know how sometimes comedy can be over the top....like Jim Carrey...)

What a stunningly beautiful book!! I LOVED it. I have read it two times, and listened to the audiobook several times. I think that someone should set up a Time Traveler's Wife tour in Chicago...
16677 Hello! I am Bethany. I'm a bookaholic. I read almost every moment that I am able to. This includes reading the fine print on the cereal box (if there is no other reading material around). I will read almost any genre. I like heady stuff and fun stuff (though I trend towards the fun stuff).

P.S. When I am not sleeping, working or reading, I like to do some crafting. :)
