I just started listening to this on audio! I'm really excited to read this one especially because of the tv show that is premiering next month. I've seen the trailer and so far the book is pretty close to what I had seen. I'm really excited to see how Gaiman works this idea of different mythologies existing together in America. Reminds me of the grown up version of Rick Riordan but if all of his books were in one universe.
I have read this one! It was really great, but warning for people who haven't read it: it is one of those books that takes 50-75 pages to get really invested and understand the world. I found the pacing to be very slow, but the reward of the ending is worth it!
Okay so I liked how this one ended! I would have liked a bit more from the story. Like Melissa, it felt a bit cliche and overall I liked the characters but I feel like Emery could have done more. Again, this is her debut novel. I rated this one 3.5 stars!
I am 100pgs away from finishing it! I like the romance, but I can see that! Reagan has her moments, but I think her self destructive tendencies make her difficult to like sometimes. But her friendship with Dee makes me appreciate her more. I like her badgirl vibe. I do have to say I love The Start of Me and You a lot more than this one!
I just started reading well listening on audiobook! I'm about an hour in. I like it so far, but nothing really has happened. But I just hate that so many friendship books have the main character as the bad girl and her bestie is the good girl. I want the main character to find a boy and have a romance. I don't care about Deliah!
I just finished and I don't know how I feel about it! I really loved the first half but the second was way too fast paced in comparison and just lost control of the story and the world. I would love to know what others thoughts were!
I only have a hundred pages left. I'm a bit confused because in so many reviews I've seen people rave about the romance and they literally are just being a thing now. Like what?!?
So I'm 200 pages in and I'm still having the same issue I did before! So slow and not a really huge plot line. The world is super cool though!
So I am about 80 pages in! It isn't quite what I expected but I am really intrigued to learn more about the world and The Dragon. I can't wait to see more character development with him.
So I wasn't a fan of Libba Bray's A Great and Terrible Beauty but I am going to try this one and see what all the hype is about.
According to goodreads, the longest book I have ever read is Outlander with 800+ pages. I think I love big books for the same reason that I love series. There is more time with the characters, world, and plot. Time only makes the heart grow fonder.
But really I also love the sense of accomplishment that comes along with finishing a big book.
It is so funny that several of these characters are based on Medieval Romances (which aren't all that romantic) and I just took a class on Medieval literature.ANYWAY!
I love forbidden romances and the whole trope of the bad boy etc. I think the added conflict brings something even more to the romance.
Currently I am reading Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo and I just love Nina and Matthias.

I finished! FINALLY! There were parts that I liked. Little twists at the end. But the romance was horrible. It just wasn't that well written either and lacked so much emotion.
Oh Ellie I just got to the weird love triangle! Yeah it feels so uncalled for. Especially the way it is written it's just uncomfortable and detached.
I completely agree about not connecting with the characters! I'm halfway through and just so bored with it. JUST SCREAMING I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU AND YOU AND YOU at every chapter! I feel like this would have been better off as one pov with companion books or just one pov because the characters aren't well developed as single entities.
