For trainees in the SEN PWR groups- this may be of interest
Mama Zooms by Jane Cowen-FletcherMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
This is a very simple book featuring a little boy whose mother uses a wheelchair. The illustrations focus on the child and his mum, rather than the wheelchair, and he is in a position that all children can empathise with- sitting on her lap as they move around pretending to be planes, superheroes and racing cars. Recommended, especially for classes with a child who has a family member who is a wheelchair user.

A wonderful book: What the Jackdaw Saw by Julia Donaldson and Nick Sharratt. I particularly recommend it to trainees on SEN PWR. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I've added some books to the group bookshelf. Did you know that Chris Riddell is the new Children's Laureate? https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I particularly like this as an example of a children's book where the characters are not children. If we read to empathise, we also need to read about people not like us.
