168065 Yes, I was about to bring my copy in for you when I was told to stay at home. I hope to put a review on soon. I'm reading the first in the Camel Club series (Baldacci) and it's over 600 pages so may slow me down a bit. I've got a stash of library books and can always fall back on re-reading my almost-complete set of Georgette Heyers. Best wishes, Anne x

168065 I expect you all know by now that the Library is closed until further notice, so we won't be able to have Book Group for a while. Before we closed though, we received some new sets of books so we should have plenty to read when we re-open. If any of you would like to post your thoughts on the latest book, 'An Unwanted Guest', please do so. Meanwhile, I hope you have enough books to keep you going. You'll still be able to download books online, and the BBC are going to be re-running readings of classic novels on Radio 4. I haven't seen a schedule yet but will try to post one when I do. In the meantime, keep an eye on the Falkirk Libraries Facebook page - I'm hoping someone will be able to do that from home - and stay safe! Looking forward to meeting up again soon. Anne x

168065 I haven't had a chance to read it yet *shame face* as life has elbowed in in front of reading time again. Now I know there are talking space lizards, though....

I am very grateful for the reviews, good and bad! Many many thanks :)

168065 Greetings all!

Has anyone finished reading The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet yet? Only I would like to compile the reviews and send them off by the end of this week if possible.

Many thanks,

168065 The books were processed whilst I was away so I didn't get a chance to upload all the shineys but here is one that is worth mentioning : )

Hag-Seed (Hogarth Shakespeare) by Margaret Atwood
Sep 26, 2016 08:21AM

168065 The sequel is published on October 20th, and one lucky group will win a complete set with their review, but I don't have a closing date for the review. I imagine it would be before our November meeting anyway.

168065 Absolutely :)

168065 It does rather, doesn't it?

I have also won another set - The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet (Wayfarers, #1) by Becky Chambers !!!! On the back of how much we loved The Day of the Triffids, but I am not sure how to fit that in to our schedule. Our review could win a reading group set of the sequel to The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet - A Closed and Common Orbit by Becky Chambers . I may ask for a couple of volunteers to review it and then we can read it at leisure another time.

168065 Greetings All!

I have won more books! The lovely people at Gallic Books have been so kind as to send us two reading sets of Yasmina Khadra's The African Equation, so I have taken the liberty of switching this title to be our next book, presuming that you all wouldn't mind....

Let me know of any excitement or umbrage below :)
