Aria - I love hard boiled mysteries. I think it's because they're usually from a man's perspective and there is little to no internal dialogue. Just the facts, ma'am. Have you heard the Doyle books? Doyle's Justice, Doyle's Law. Contemporary PI with high body counts, always a girl, but fade to black sex, just enough characterization to make you fall for the main characters - and a gripping plot with twists and raising stakes that keep you listening. That's so cool that you've worked with the visually impaired. I had a friend who read newspapers at a public radio station. The channel was private - or something, so blind individuals could hear the daily news.
