Welcome Madelyn! I, er....kind of read the torment that went on in the 897 comments on your reading updates.

I am sorry for the torment.

I am not sorry for the torment. ;-)

True. True...

I'll talk to my publisher. Maybe we can make it 9 months. ;)
But in all reality, I will be sharing little sneak peeks and tidbits throughout the year to try and make it bearable. Cover reveals, first chapter reveals. Maybe even a side story about Jude when he was younger... Wait, what? Did I say that?

Hm...you are quite the detective. I like thine detectivity....

But YOU DON'T HAVE TO WAIT A WHOLE YEAR! :P It's technically only about 10-ish months now. :P

172883 Hello wonderful readers and fans! Today I officially announced the title of book 3 on Facebook. I'll also be sharing a bit more about it in next month's newsletter.

But the new title is....A TIME TO RISE! *squeal* I'm SO excited to finish up edits and start dropping hints and tidbits as we get closer to its release (Fall 2016!)

(Psst...you can go add it to your "to-read" shelf now!) A Time to Rise (Out of Time, #3) by Nadine Brandes

So what do you think? Like it? Hate it? [grin]

172883 I would like to shout a huge THANK YOU!!! to Emily, Faith, and Alea for putting together this group, for leading the read through, and for being such wonderful friends and readers. THANK YOU! You were amazing and put forth so much hard work.

And thank you to everyone who joined in the read-through. I'm sure we'll have another one when book 3 is set to come out. ;)

172883 Can I be a fangirl about my fans? Seriously, you guys inspire me SO MUCH and keep me grinning all the time!

I WANT TO TELL YOU EVERYTHING! But....I'll refrain. (For now.)

It's fun to see you all torn over Skelley Chase (is that morbid of me?) and also makes me want to make sure I conclude everything in book three. *grin*

As for Parvin, the ending of A Time to Speak was something I'd had planned almost since the start of the series, down to the last sentence. I'm SO glad it delivered the way it was intended to. And as for whether or not she's dead? Well... (view spoiler)

172883 Okay, I'm going to be the first to talk about spoilers without using the little "hide spoilers" HTML because...this is the spoilers page! And we're allowed to do that! :P

Firstly, thank you very much for all the sweet comments. :) I love reading everyone's theories and thoughts and encouragement. :D

To be honest, I was originally going to save Parvin from losing her hand. Then after days and days of brainstorming and trying to figure out how Jude could get there in time without it being cliche, then I felt like God whispered in my ear, "She doesn't get saved!"

I was shocked. And then I ran home to hubby, threw open the door, and shouted, "Parvin gets her hand chopped off!"

He tried to act like he knew what I was talking about. ;-)

By the way, ARTIST LIBRARIAN -- I LOVE your theory about Jude being an android. Just sayin'.

172883 Hubby and I use Tally ho and Welks ALL THE TIME! :D
I'm determined that these sayings shall take over the world. ;)

It's super fun to be part of the group! :D

Some midwifes do. But as you'll see when you read further, Unity Village isn't exactly "law-abiding." The Enforcers would rather just dispose of Radicals than register them (like with Mr. Foster in chapter 1.) You'll learn a tadbit about Mother's midwife (her name was Bridget) in book 2. She and her husband had to flee to a Dead City because their consciences kept them from following all the government's rules. ;) So that's why Parvin and Reid were safe.

Regarding twins:
Yes, they'd both start planning regarding the lower number and would simply do Mentoring together. The Last Year Funds would be adjusted accordingly (so that the longer-living twin didn't get double the funds.)

Basically, twins are tricky! And you ask great questions! :)

172883 [Author steps in}
*clears throat*
Alrighty, let's talk twins.
You're right. They wouldn't know who the Clock belonged to. The Clocks have only been around for 100 years and they're a very primitive invention. From the moment they were first invented, no one's been able to improve them or change them. So what would be expected is for a family to inform the Enforcers that their twins do have Clocks, but it's unclear to whom it belongs.

A mother is given new "empty" Clocks after each birth to account for future children. They have to have a new ovachip inserted into their body after having a child. Usually the midwife would do this. :) So...they can have a big family, but the government isn't going to (and technically can't) just give them an endless supply of Clocks right off the bat. That would be wasteful and inefficient.

I'm enjoying everyone's questions and reactions! :) This is fun!
