The murder-by-branch was something out of a bad episode of a show, but I enjoyed the way it was written, it made for a fun, easy evening read.

I really enjoyed the setting for the series, makes me want to read David Fisher's book about Jasper Maskelyne.I found it humorous that most of the detective work and problem solving was done by the secondary characters, but hopefully that will not be repeated in the following books as it will make me wonder why Edgar and Max are important for the story.
