I think the cover and the title co-communicate very well. I don't know what the blurb says but I interpret it this way:
'Bereft' is an adjective, it describes your emotional state (an abstract idea). The title is applying this adjective to a common noun: body. What would a 'bereft' body look like? if a youthfull and young body could simbolize joy, a wrinkly and old body would be the opposite.

But again, I haven't read the blurb so I may be off the mark but that is what I could interpret from what was given. Hope that helps.
