176032 It's Stephen King for me again after a long break. And Lauren Willig, although the series I liked seems to have ended and I don't care for her stand alone books as much.

176032 I just finished The Wonder by Emma Donoghue. Not sure what I expected, but I read it because I got through Room. I say got through because I had to work at it, but it was a good read. The Wonder...not so much. I can't say that I actually LIKED any of the characters at all until the very end. Any other authors you read another book or two thinking you'd at least get something close and been disappointed? Not sure if my problem is expectations or that I'm boring. Or maybe I like to like some of the characters. Maybe I"m a needy reader.

176032 So wow, just wow. This is one of those books I won't have to go back to Goodreads so I can remember the title to recommend it. This one will stick with me.

176032 I picked this up because it seemed like I should read it. I didn't even read what it was about....but I LOVE it. Yes, I'm shouting. Can't wait to finish it.

176032 I finished this in less than 24 hours. I need to work out some feels about it, so if you've read it, let me know.

176032 guess who suggested it??

176032 Almost finished with this one. I'm really hoping I don't finish out the book the way I've spent most of it - thinking that I would be so over both of the main characters in real life.

176032 I'm maybe 25% done...someone talked me into this. I'm not sure I'll be thanking them.
176032 Maybe this isn't even literary, I don't know. I have to 'fess up that my most hated book ever was The Poisonwood Bible, so maybe I'm just a populist. I'm not done yet, so no spoilers, but what do you define as "literary", and can you read it? Why or why not?

176032 Anybody else find themselves wanting to yell, "For Pete's sake, just talk to each other"?

176032 What is the meaning of the novel’s title? To whom do the “I” and “you” refer?

176032 It's almost the 15th! I will be posting a question every couple of days to get some discussion going. I will also be posting the February book on the 15th so you can plan for that. I can't wait to hear what you thought.

Lindsey,
Goodreads has a framework for book discussions and I followed that. I hadn't checked how it looked in the app. I've amended the title of the discussion to include the title of the book. Thanks!

That's great! I wouldn't have even thought of that, great suggestion.

176032 What's your favorite holiday-based book? I thoroughly enjoyed The Mischief of the Mistletoe!
