WOOHOO! Right, Sandra?xD (Btw. Just last week I've decided to re-read the whole VA series for the third time and it's still as awesome as it was the first time around.:)
You guys need to read this book! The Study series is SO GOOD!:) And don't get me started on Valek, because he's my sexy and kickass assassin baby.<3 Guards of the Shadowlands is also one of my favourites, it's such an underrated series. All Sarah Fine books I have read so far are very good. And if you're a romance lovers - which I guess you are :D - than you'll definitely fall in love with Malachi!<3 *swoon* He reminded me of Dimitri Belikov somehow, Sandra!^^
“He thought I was strong, but he was willing to lay down his life to protect me. He thought I was beautiful, but he treated me as a precious gift instead of something to take for his own pleasure. He thought I was worth something, and he was worth everything to me. This man had endured lifetimes of suffering, but he could still love, and give, and dream of his future. He was a leader who would sacrifice himself for the weak, who used all his gifts — his intelligence, his cunning, his strength — to protect others. It was a privilege to love him, even to have a shot at giving him the things he needed.”― Sarah Fine, Chaos
“Yelena, you've driven me crazy. You've caused me considerable trouble and I've contemplated ending your life twice since I've known you." Valek's warm breath in my ear sent a shiver down my spine.
"But you’ve slipped under my skin, invaded my blood and seized my heart.”
“That sounds more like a poison than a person,” was all I could say. His confession had both shocked and thrilled me.
“Exactly,” Valek replied. “You have poisoned me.”
― Maria V. Snyder, Poison Study
Have any of you read these awesome books?:)
“And than suddenly he was there, charging down the hallway like death in a cowboy duster.”♥ ♥ ♥
“The only thing better than imagining Dimitri carrying me in his arms was imagining him shirtless while carrying me in his arms.”
:D
Well, We can agree that neither of them is as handsome, charming and generally awesome as our winter faery prince Ash!♥^^
Yeah, I definitely agree! Lux series is WAY much better than Twilight. Actually, I don't like twilight, not the movies and not the books. (Sorry) Lux is enjoyable read with heroine who has actually interesting personality unlike Bella. And she is a blogger and loves books! I haven't actually read about many heroines which were book bloggers, not in fantasy.<3 (Only in contemporary, for example - Ella from Cinder & Ella - And that book was pure awesomeness!)But the basic outline of the story was little bit similar in the 1 book, unintentionally I guess.
Btw. If you liked Lux, definitely try Covenant!:)
Whaat? You shipped David? But Tamani was such a sweetheart.<3 And yeah, I agree about the world and the various kinds of fairies in this book.. so beautiful.:)
If you're super into Fae - like me :D - than I think you'd enjoy Wicked Lovely. I intend to continue with the series. And Lament was also awesome!:)Btw. I remember that I disliked the main heroine in Wings, but loved the love interest - Tamani, I think.. Also the Fae world was such a magical place.<3
Haha! Well, I'm sure that we can share such an amazing man as is Dimitri!:D You can even have him more often, because I have too many of them already and Ash is still my number 1.<3 Who is your N.1 bbf? Do you have such a numerous group like me?:D
This series was such a fast and fun read for me. I agree that as the series progress it's less like VA, Aiden becomes his own person and not Dimitri alike anymore. But the first book was really similar to VA - snarky heroine who comes back to the Academy/Covenant and trains with a hot brooding warrior.. Also: Dhampir/Half Bloods, Moroi/Pure Bloods, Strigoi/Daimon, Guardians/Sentinels ... Way too much like VA :D Btw. I don't know why, but the first Lux book reminded me of Twilight a bit..? Am I the only one?:D
Thanks for the recs.:) I have read quite a lot of books with Fey, but non of them had the impact on me as Kagawa's.I remember that Paranormalcy was lot of fun, but nothing much from the world or the love interest/s.
Also:
Wings by Aprilynne Pike (Interesting Faery world)
Lament by Maggie Stiefvater
Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr
Fever by Karen Marie Moning (Which I didn't like at all.)
I have noticed that you love Dimitri and Ash just as much as I am. Ash wasn't my first serious book crush, the honor goes to Lucas (Evernight) and Sam (Shiver), but he was the only one who lasted so long.xD
This is one of the most romantic lines I have ever read and I sip Meghan and Ash so much!♥ “My name is Ashallyn'darkmyr Tallyn, third son of the Unseelie Court...Let it be known - from this day forth, I vow to protect Meghan Chase, daughter of the Summer King, with my sword, my honor, and my life. Her desires are mine. Her wishes are mine. Should even the world stand against her, my blade will be at her side. And should it fail to protect her, let my own existence be forfeit. This I swear, on my honor, my True Name, and my life. From this day on..." His voice went even softer, but I still heard it as though he whispered it into my ear. "I am yours.”
- Julie Kagawa, The Iron Queen
♥ ♥ So much swoons while reading this scene for the first time.
My new bbf is Valek from Poison Study. Also I have an open relationship with Thorne from The Lunar Chronicles and am currently engaged with Kai also from TLCH. But I'm still married to my old loves Ash from The Iron Fey and Dimitri from VA.<3
And I would almost forget about Étienne St. Clair from Anna and the French Kiss. We have it complicated now, I have too many bbf and keep forgetting to include him.:D
Dark faery prince...♥ *swoon* He was one of my first book crushes, alongside with Dimitri! And this is still my favourite Fae series, I always try to find new one like this, but it's never as wondrous as The Iron Fey.<3 Do any of you know some other awesome Fae books?
