The book that i am writing about is “Flowers for Algernon”. This books theme talks about how in life you cant move on until you solve your problems in your life. Throughout the book Charlie had many flashbacks of his past. After Charlie’s operation his recovery of his childhood memories really effects how he acts in the present. He realises that in order for him to move on with his life he needs to deal with his traumas in the past. In the book when Charlie goes to visit his mother Rose, she attempts to attack Charlie with a knife because she still sees the old Charlie in him. Here is a link to my playlist: https://play.spotify.com/user/zach01p...Song 1: T-Shirt - Shontelle
The song T-shirt by Shontelle is a song about how she gets dumped by her boyfriend. Because she gets dumped by her boyfriend she only wants to stay home and wear her ex-boyfriends shirt rather than going out with her friends and moving on with her life.
Song 2: Walk Away - Paul DeAnda
The song Walk Away talks about how she thinks about her ex boyfriend with his new girlfriend and wonders if they do all the same things that they used to do together. In the song even though they have moved on, it is still very hard for her to walk away and move on with her life.
Song 3: I Love You - Mary J Blige
The song is about a break up that results from the boyfriend not being able or willing to change his ways, and although she still loves him and always will, she knows that it’s time to move on, whether she remains alone or with someone else. And is a clear example of how in order to move on she must make the right decisions and solve her problems.
Song 4: Breakaway - Kelly Clarkson
This song is about breaking away from your old life, breaking away from everything in your past and moving on with your life. It talks about shedding your past and becoming a new person. It really relates to my theme as she is moving on with her life as she has forgotten about and solved everything in her past.
Song 5: Forget You - Ce-lo Green
This amazing song talks about someone seeing their girlfriend with another person and instead of crying down into tears he forgets about her and moves on with her life. He solved his problem by forgetting about it and because of that he was able to move on with his life.
Song 6: Love the way you lie - Rihanna and Eminem
This song talks about two couples who love each other so fiercely, however sometimes that ferocity morphs into hatred. Both of them know that their just dragging each other down, until they are finally ready to go say goodbye and move on with their lives. They realised that in order for them to move on they had to look at what was bothering them and fix the problems.
Song 7: Somebody that I used to know - Gotye (Ft, Kimbra)
In this song he hasn’t come to terms with his break up with his former lover. And he is particularly affronted that what he called love was nothing to his former lover and is scared that it will happen again. And in order for him to move on he must solve this problem.
Song 8: Cry Me a River
The song talks about the girl making the relationship go bad by cheating, and to get even, the boy makes sure that the girl finds out he's moved on with his life. The girl gets upset, and "cries a river" because she screwed up and lost the boy forever. Although sad in order for her to move on with her life she must resolve this problem.
Song 9: Someone Like you - Adele
In this song Adele talks about empowerment and her telling herself she is finally able to move on with her breakup. The song is about seeing your ex and accepting that you guys have moved on, solving you problems in the past and just moving on.
Song 10: Believe - Cher
This song is very similar to Adele’s song and is mainly about empowerment and telling yourself that it is time to move on and solve all your problems.
All of these songs clearly relate to my theme as they all talk about how in life you must solve all your problems before you can actually move on with your life. Although most of my songs are about breakup, they really relate to my theme in many different ways.
