I usually will buy a book from a favorite author or a sequel to one of my favorite series. I have several friends that recommend books and we are all linked on Goodreads, so it is easy to just click the book to my list. But I have also read some of the Goodread recommendations on the side when I'm listing my books. I let cover blurbs draw me in when I'm at the bookstore, too, though I'm more likely to pick something up if it is in a display. I'm one of those who can be easily distracted by those shiny objects:)
