Delusions of Gender did not even register until you put it on this list. What a great book for Cat Grant. I had a hard time thinking of which books she would deem worthy. This list is fantastic.
You know, thinking about it, Anne of Green Gables works better for Felicity because of all the reasons Lizzie says. I was thinking Emily of New Moon might be more her speed, but Lizzie is right! Anne and Felicity would be the best of friends too, geeking out over books, tech (because Anne would love social media) and food... yes? Also, I LOVE The Scarlet Pimpernel and Lizzie's reason for it being on this list is perfection. Adorable spies being adorable. Yep, yep, yep!

Also, so much love for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo being here. :)

However, you know what book I think he'd hate. Scott Turow's Presumed Innocent because it misuses and abuses the legal system Matt loves so much for perverting justice.
Lissete wrote: "I kind of think he'd read Austen too. If I had to pick ONE Austen book, I'd go with Persuasion over Pride and Prejudice, but I can see him reading both."Of course, since Persuasion has the nautical theme and that would appeal to his rakish pirate heart. Plus, it would give him hope that as gruff as his exterior is, Emma can probably see beyond it.
Hook definitely comes across as a romantic to me, so Lizzie's choices: 1. Captain Blood
2. Treasure Island
3. Withering Heights
4. Sonnets from the Portuguese
5. Les Miserables
feel perfect for his behind the times look and persona. It's as if he will never immerse himself in the modern so these classic novels would remind him of a more dark, but real time of his life. However, that said, I bet he loved Errol Flynn, Olivia de Havilland, and Basil Rathbone in the old black & white 'Captain Blood' film. Probably loves these three in 'Robin Hood' too.
