When does this story take place? Since this is nonfiction, was the author involved in the story? Or is he/she just writing about it?

Why does Charlie not start, despite having a great football mind? Does he have more brains than brawn?

The half bloods and campers arrive at camp half blood. Apollo departs in his flying sun car. The hunters are not to be around men and do not mix well with gods and demigods, so they request to stay in a separate cabin. It is winter at camp half blood, so there are not nearly as many campers as in the summer, only the ones who stay year round. Percy, Thalia, Grover, and Nico meet up with Chiron, a friend and camp official, and Mr. D, the camp director. Nico is introduced, and Percy explains what happened to Annabeth.

When it is time to leave the Hunters' camp, Apollo, god of the sun, brother of Lady Artemis, is called upon to provide transportation for the half bloods and hunters to camp half blood. Artemis must go alone to hunt for the monster that took Annabeth. Apollo shows up in a car disguised as the sun. It flies high in the sky and the altitude controls the amount of heat that is felt on earth. Apollo gives Thalia the opportunity to drive, but she is not very skilled. Thalia manages to fly safely to camp half blood, but not before she manages to partially burn a small town on the way.

Is this colonel fighting for Italy or for the U.S.?

Lady Artemis, God of the hunt, summons Bianca into her tent in the forest. She talks with her about joining the hunters. In order to do so, Bianca must swear an oath and vow never to love or be involved with men. Men are not allowed to join the hunters, which means she would leave her brother Nico with Percy and his friends. Bianca accepts the offer and is part of the sisterhood. Percy is shocked at Bianca's decision. Percy, Grover, Thalia, and the hunters must now go to camp half blood with the help of Artemis's brother, Apollo.

As the hunters arrive to rescue Percy and his friends, Annabeth is captured by Dr. Thorn and he escapes. Percy, Grover, and Thalia are all devastated, but the hunters assure them that Everything will be ok and Annabeth will be rescued. The hunters set up camp in the forest to rest. Percy's wound is treated and Nico and Bianca Diangelo learn their demigod identity. Percy insists that Nico and Bianca should come to camp half blood to train, but Artemis, God of the hunt and leader of the hunters, has something else in mind.

Is there a specific reason that he would use a pen name? And why did he pick George Stark?

Percy and his friends find two demigods at the school named Bianca and Nico Diangelo. As percy tries to approach them, the siblings are taken by Dr. Thorn, the principle of the school that Bianca and Nico attended. Dr. Thorn turns out to be a monster called a manticore that shoots barbs of poison at its enemies. Percy tries to help, but is also captured by the Manticore. He uses telepathy with Grover to contact his friends that he's in danger. Annabeth, Grover, and Thalia come to fight the Manticore, along with help from Hunters of the forest.

This is the third installment of the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan. This series revolves around Greek mythology and follows a boy named Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon, and his demigod(half god half human) friends. It starts out by following Percy, and his two friends, Annabeth, and Thalia, also demigods. They are traveling to a school to be reunited with their friend Grover who is a satyr(half goat). They enter the school to locate and recruit demigods to their camp. Most demigods are unaware of their powers at a young age, so Percy and his friends must find them.

I saw the movie and loved it, so I've been meaning to read the book! I love Charlie's journey and what he learns about himself and the his friends. I especially enjoyed the relationship Charlie has with his English teacher, Mr. Anderson.
