Hi everyone, I adored this story. Well written and researched, I was drawn into the story and I think it was only a couple of days before I devoured this novel.
Agnes Magnusdottir was a real person, she was the last woman to be executed in Iceland. Did you realise this? Did this add an element of reality for you? I felt it brought an eerie element that is hard to describe, I think the best I could do would be to say I had a heavy sadness at the end of the novel.
Happy Reading! xxx T

I could not get into it, and when it took a turn to the supernatural/time travel it lost me completely. I will put my hand up and say I love fantasy, but this just didn't grab me.
I think your last point is a good one. I felt, from what I did read, that the story was almost hindered by the need to stick to the stories the photographs unveil. And whilst I can't comment on whether the story was a good one to not, I like that it could have been a better one.
I CAN answer one question. Yay for me! I believe there will be a sequel. One I shall not be reading, but I hope it has success. :)
Hope you like the next read!!
Also, love your thoughts. :)
I am still having issues getting to this book. I starting to think it's just not going to happen for me, which is fine. You sometimes have that with books. I hope everyone else is having a better time with it.
Hey folks! What do we think of the pictures in this one? For reasons I don't understand, I'm having a hard time getting into the story, but the photos are quite interesting.
Hey Elle!I think the first couple of chapters made me confused, but after that it was smooth sailing. I found that I was looking forward to the flashbacks to see if it would answer any questions I had about what was going on in Rachel's chapters.
I also felt sorry for her, but I don't think I trusted her narrative until the very end. I was constantly saying to myself "Oh, no! Why did drunk Rachel do that???" She redeems herself though!
Hey all, Here's a really good review from the New York Times about the difficulties of sympathizing with Rachel.

http://hellogiggles.com/girl-train-tr... After reading the book, I have high expectations of the movie. I'm glad I read the book beforehand, and I'm really excited to see the movie. Bit of compare and contrast!!!
Hey!What did everyone think of Rachel? I felt that her being so flawed - an alcoholic, unable to get over her break-up, almost desperate for affection - made her an interesting protagonist. I felt almost unable to fully trust her narrative, because of her black-outs. It gave something a little different.
If you're still reading, I won't post any spoilers. :) Happy reading!!!
