191013 I agree with you all! I especially hate Mrs Elton, Fanny Dashwood and her mother, Mr Collins, George Wickham, Isabella and John Thorpe, Caroline Bingley, Lucy Steele and Lady Susan from Austen.
Umbridge from Harry Potter and Lockhart of course!
From Game of Thrones (it's a phantasy classic!), I hate Joffrey Baratheon, Ramsay Bolton, Cersei Lannister and Littlefinger!

I also absolutely hate Becky Sharp and George Osborne from Vanity Fair, Charlotte Bartlett from 'A Room with A View' and I can't think of anyone else right now but there are also others!

191013 I love very classic couples: Darcy-Elizabeth, Aragorn-Arwen etc I love Anne Elliot and Captain Wentworth too! And from Marian and Elinor I would choose the Elinor-Edward romance!

191013 I really love P&P 2005 (my favourite movie EVER!) and 1995, both the Sense and Sensibility adaptations and I truly love North and South and every adaptation of Jane Eyre! Wives And Daughters, War and Peace, Little Dorrit, Vanity Fair etc the list is endless!!! Almost every other Jane Austen adaptation though Emma will forever be Kate Beckinsale's Emma and none other! I don't like the other Emma adaptations very much!

Also, Ivory's 'A Room with A View' and 'Howards End'. Unfortunately, I can't find many movies by him online or anywhere else! :(

191013 I am from Greece and I speak fluently Greek, English (US and UK but I prefer the latter), French and I also know some words and phrases in Italian, Spanish and German too. We learned Ancient Greek at school too. It's a very fascinating language with many similarities with the modern Greek. We also hear Ancient Greek when we go to church here in Greece. The gospels and the hymns of the Orthodox Church are all written in Ancient Greek! I recently watched a play "Socrate's Plea" where the actors spoke Ancient Greek! Very fascinating!!!

I would like to speak Italian someday but I have so many things to do and I'm a bit lazy so.. I learned Spanish, Italian and German mostly from Doki but also from italian songs like Eros Ramazzotti's and some German from Rammmstein. I would like to learn Latin too!

191013 Yes, you're right! Me too! You are what you listen to! I realized that to my dismay! In my youth, I used to listen to gothic, alternative metal and doom/death metal. Especially the doom/death songs were so atmospheric! Gothic has a wonderful romance too and a sweet melancholy! Reminds me of gothic litterature etc Also, metal in general! But especially metal is NOT a good music! When I stopped listening to it I felt a weight lifting off my chest with each passing day..

Before that, I listened to rock music (I loved Nirvana) and alternative pop/rock. I begun my music career at 10 listening to britpop like Dido, Coldplay and Envanescence (a little bit of goth since then)! But I liked the above since then too! I also loved Amelie's soundtrack at that period! I bought the cd when I saw the film!

Now, when I'm depressed I listen to sad alternative/indie music and a bit of gothic still, especially Sisters of Mercy's 'Marian'! Love that song, it gives me hope! And at other times I have a huge selection of indie, alternative feel-good music! Like Air, Au Revoir Simone, Kings of Convenience etc and also piano, classical, instrumental and soundtracks! The most inspiring one, I think it's the Brave soundrack!

I haven't! I didn't know there was a book! But I've seen the film! It's soooo magical!!! <3 Btw, I see the movie every April since last year when I saw it first! ;) Thanks for the recommendation!

191013 I agree with Secret Garden!! It's so lovely and magical and such meaningful messages! Pride and Prejudice of course and the Harry Potter series!!!
I love "A Room with A View"! It's so magical and romantic! The way Forster writes is so poetic! I fell in love with Florence and art and every view, every landscape, everything he was describing! The only con is that he was a homosexual and subsequently an atheist so many messages are towards this direction! He belonged in the humanism movement.
And a greek one you wouldn't know! Translation: "The locket of grandma Eugenia". It's so nostalgic! I particularly liked the old curiosity shop and the confectionery where they ate honey pies (a greek sweet) and bergamot tea!!

191013 I think mine are Mr Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet! Also, Mary Lennox from The Secret Garden and Sansa Stark from A Song of Ice and Fire!
And from series, Anne of Green Gables! Unfortunately, I haven't read the books!
Anne is not so very well-known in Greece!
Here, we read Pollyanna by Eleanor Porter, who is a bit similar to her, as young girls!
Felicity do you mean Gilbert Blythe?

191013 Hello! My name is Ellie! I'm from Greece! I love classical english literature, fairytales and the fantasy genre (mostly the classics)!
My all-time favourite authors are Jane Austen and J.K. Rowling! Apart from books I love art, writing (I currently write articles for the "Daily Owl Enchanted Magazine" in greek), romantic fashion, strolling to the Botanical Garden, going to tea parties, watching films and series and listening to indie and classical/instrumental music.
I'm very happy to find such kindred spirits like you every now and then!
As Anne of Green Gables correctly says:

"Kindred spirits are not so scarce as I used to think. It's splendid to find out there are so many of them in the world."
