I love classics as comics, because it enables me to get through stories I wouldn't otherwise reading... especially the long ones and ones like Frankenstein that are genres I don't read in prose! I particularly enjoy the Manga Classics line, some of which (like the Shakespeare ones) include all the original text.

I'll keep the horror preference in mind! I do try to ensure there's a variety of genres/styles/levels each month to try to hit the wide spectrum of content available in the format.

This Uzumaki?

Yay for Hoopla! I love Hoopla (as a patron), although I know it can get pricy for the libraries. It definitely has a great comics selection.
I also knew nothing about Algeria or the war.

Lore Olympus: Volume One is on my reading list, but I haven't gotten to it yet! I do like stories about Persephone in general; she's a pretty interesting character.

True, Heidi! Disney has sanitized classic tales so much that it's easy to forget fairy tales were historically pretty dark.

These ones? Once & Future, Vol. 1: The King is Undead by Kieron Gillen
They're on my TBR but I haven't gotten to them yet; glad to hear they're good!

I gave it a 4 rating."
I'm impressed you liked it enough to give it 4 stars despite it not being your regular/preferred genres!

Fabulous! This is a go-to recommendation for me, too.

I call that a win! One of the things I like about this group and my other book club is pushing my boundaries of what I would read / reach for otherwise. So when I make it through a book that's different than anything I've read before, or that I wouldn't have gone for otherwise, I consider it mission accomplished!
