20008 Hi Katherine, Hope you're off to a good start for a great week!

20008 Aly, I know you live south, but you were in Chicago for a visit (vacation . . work . . whatever), so you got to feel the summer humidity. If you get the chance, go back in the winter, you'll see why they call it the "Windy City".

20008 Okay, it's now 9:00 PM here in Miami, Florida, you must be on CST. I'm getting off the computer and ordering some Zitti for dinner. At least I stopped long enough to feed my dogs, they don't care if I don't eat, but they darn sure let me know when it's time for their dinner!

Have a giood night, all.

I skipped breakfast, brunch & lunch . . . handcuffed to my computer, now dealing with a problem with the printer (abeit, probably my fault for not catching mistake in proof copy), such is the life of a Writer . . . I think being a Cop would be much easier . . .

Hope everyone is having a great Tuesday.

20008 Good Morning,

My sincere thanks to both of you, Aly and Maryam. No, Maryam, your comment did not sound weird to me. I write Detective novels based on true crimes, with the exception of my first book, a biography of a television and movie star, David Janssen, which I co-authored with his first wife, Ellie Janssen.

I do not want to post excerpts of my work, because there is strong adult language (bad guys aren't choir boys). I do however, hope I can be a contributor here and be of some help to young people starting out.
Thanks again for the warm welcome, and wishing all a good Sunday.

20008 Hi Aly,
Thank you for your nice welcome.
I should make note that both of my books contain adult language, and I would not want teens or under to be reading them.

I encourage young adults to READ and WRITE, so this looks like the group to do just that. I do want to caution, I've had many a tough 'job', but Writing is by far the toughest! It takes a lot of self-discipline and patience.

Nice to be here, thank you.

20008 Good Morning Everyone in The LARGEST WRITING GROUP on Goodreads,

I have just spotted this group and joined. I assume this is the place I tell you a little about myself, and the two books I have on the market today.

First, let me make it clear, I am NOT the Michael Phelps; you know the young, good-looking, talented, Olympic Champion with all the Gold and Girls.

I am the (not so) young, (not) good-looking, (but I am) TALENTED, (not) Olympic Champion, (don't have any) Gold, (don't have any) girls chasing me. I am MICHAEL PHELPS, the WRITER of Police Procedural, Detective, Crime and Courtroom drama NOVELS all based on actual crimes.

I have lived a long, complicated life. I've been up and down, over and out. I've travelled each and every highway, and a few byways too. I've stumbled, even fallen down a couple of times . . . but, I just picked myself up, dusted myself off and started all over again. In looking back, I can say in all humility, I DID IT MY WAY! Regrets, I have a few, but then again, don't you too, and since I can't go back and make necessary changes, my regrets are too few to mention.

I am a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force, Military Police-Combat Defense Forces (Viet Nam). I do not like war, but I strongly support our young men and women serving in our Armed Forces.

I've had several work assignments, and finally retired as Chief Investigator for a prominent Coral Gables (FL) law firm, specializing in criminal defense.

I Co-authored "DAVID JANSSEN-MY FUGITIVE" with the late actor's first wife, ELLIE JANSSEN. Originally published in 1994 (Hardcover, 1995-96-97 in Paperback), I have just released the FOURTH EDITION, in Hardcover. It contains 34 photos from Ellie's private collection, and an Update. Best part, it is available at the original 1994 Publication price of $18.95 (+ $2.77 S&H). The success of this writing venture (it sold over 1.2 million copies), rekindled my passion for writing.

I created the "MIKE WALSH DETECTIVE NOVELS" series with the debut novel, "THE EXECUTION OF JUSTICE".
This is based on the true story of the murder of my close friend and one-time mentor, a Detective Sergeant in the Robbery & Homicide unit of the Indianapolis Police Department (my hometown). Cops & Robbers, Mayhem & Murders, this book has it all in graphic details.

I am currently completing "JOCKEY JUSTICE", which is based on an actual murder case I worked on for the law firm. A winning race horse jockey is murdered on the last day of the racing season. Eight years later, his wife and son-in-law are charged with the crime. It is Investigator Mike Walsh & his teams' job to investigate a cold case, and find the evidence to keep his firm's clients out of Kentucky's Electric Chair.

I am an avid reader, and enjoy most genres. I have yet to read any of the "Harry Potter" books, but will get around to it. My favorite authors are JANET EVANOVICH, JAMES PATTERSON, RICHARD NORTH PATTERSON, PATRICIA CORNWELL, JOHN SANDFORD, SUE GRAFTON, and many more.

I am happily divorced (at least I hope my former wife is, I did not deserve her in the first place). I split my time between New York City and Miami, Florida with my faithful German Shepherd Police puppy dog (he doesn't believe he's a dog).

I hope I can be a value and contributing member of this group.

Thanks for welcoming me into the Group.
