200855 I'll be updating discussion threads tomorrow when I finally have proper wifi at home.
I personally just started Well-Read Black Girls. But it's up to you what to read first :) I hope we can have good discussions during June and July!

200855 Me neither, I had so much going on xD it's save to say we kinda failed our first challenge lol but the next one will be better haha

I'm thinking about a summer challenge which is about educating ourselves about racism and everything that is going on. If you have ideas for reading prompts let me know

200855 Please leave suggestions on how we can educate ourselves, it can be books, websites, tv-shows, movies whatever comes to mind :) I myself still need to learn a lot about racism, especially as it's not really a topic that is spoken about in the media here in Europe (even though racsim is here!).

200855 Our BOTM reads will start on Monday 8th of June till 31th of July. That hopefully gives everyone enough time to get a copy of our reads.

We'll be reading White Fragility Why It’s So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism by Robin DiAngelo and Well-Read Black Girl Finding Our Stories, Discovering Ourselves by Glory Edim .

Ill be opening discussion topics as soon as I have my copies. Please feel free to start your own topic in the "BOTM June/July" thread :)

200855 With everything going on I want to postpone reading Act Like A Lady as book of the month, and instead read a book about racism, black culture or anything that is educational about the black movement topic. I myself have a lot to learn, and still have to choose a book for our book of the month read. I'll let you know soon what we'll be reading. Suggestions are welcome!

200855 I hope everyone is healthy and happily reading! I'm in the middle of moving (we have 4, so quite spontaneous), so I won't be able to update your points in the overview until the challenge ends, on June 2nd.
Also, our group read in June will be Act Like A Lady. There is a thread for it, and I'll update it with a reading schedule and discussion threads soon :) I'd love for us to read it together and discuss in detail. I think it'll be good promo for the ladies, especially as they didn't ask for it and it'd be a fan project :)

200855 In June we'll read Act Like a Lady Questionable Advice, Ridiculous Opinions, and Humiliating Tales from Three Undignified Women by Keltie Knight together and discuss the book. I'll break it up in chapters (need to wait for my copy to know how many chapters there are) and each week we'll read a certain amount of chapters and discuss those. I know many will finish the book quickly, but I really want to have lenghty discussions about the book, so at the end of the month I can send screenshots to the ladies for them to see how we like it :)

We'll start reading from June 2 to June 30!

200855 How's the reading going? I'm only 150 pages into my book, but I have to study a lot so I'm not moving on as quick as I'd like to..
