Oh, I just went back and read the book compatibility discussion and that was great.Demigio,I don't think you and I were at RV at the same time but please come over to BB.
Yes, we're having a wild New Year's Eve.

Just found this this morning:

Ooh, thanks, Nancy. Didn't know you lived in Salem. I've been there. I remember a local telling me all the witch museums were awful but we went to one that I thought wasn't cheesy. Bought a book there about the witch trials.
This is sounding more and more doable. I haven't been in that area in many years. Wharton would be my absolute favorite. And I love the idea of sharing a house. Lisa, if I flew into NY would Kennedy be best?
Miriam, did not understand your comment. Sorry. In age range, I believe LuAnn and I would have been in same high school class if she had been in Smithville, Texas or I had been in Kankakee, Illinois. And I think I count 7. Let's see, Karen, Kat, Lauren, Lisa, Luann, Miriam, Nancy. K,L,M,N. Heh.
How did I miss this conversation? It is time for us to all do this.I'm open to suggestions. But agree not to do something when it's super cold. Literary pilgrimages are great. I've done Hemingway in Key West, Mark Twain in Missouri, EA Poe in two different places, O Henry in Austin, I'm sure there are others. Steinbeck in Northern Cal but there wasn't much there.
Really, Nancy? I've never heard that. Tartt has always been pretty low-key Loved TSH, bought it in hardcover when it first came out. Read TLF also which I had a little of a hard time with, in retrospect I remember it fondly.
Come over to BookBalloon, David. Lots of talk about the Stanwyck bio in the movie thread. I have the Tartt but I'm making myself finish the two books I'm in the middle of first.
Glad to see you here, Lyddie. I think I waver on rating books between my liking of them & literary merit. Then again, I think half stars here would be a good idea. Lots of times I'm back and forth, especially in the 3-4 star range.
Yeah, you and I get 100 percent because you and I both gave 5 stars to The Great Gatsby and that's it.I randomly put in books I've read over my life as I remember them.
I am still a little bit insulted over the list of books they have labeled 'women's fiction.'
If you are on the page that says compare books with Karen or some such, if you go to the right hand side of the page, a little bit higher, it should have a link that says return to Karen's profile, below that should be a link that says book compatibility test. If you click on that it gives you a list of books both of us have read by genre, etc. I know I'm bad at giving directions..
Yes, just checked. If you have the comparison chart visible, it will be on the top right, book compatibility test.
I guess I didn't explain it well, Kat. It's in the right hand corner after you do the book comparison. (I think, I can't see it now but I'll check.Lyddie (I don't think she's on this group, someone should tell her) gave The Sound & the Fury 1 star.
Miriam, maybe it's a Canadian thing. Just kidding. Just think how we all compare to the reading population as a whole.
