201612 I guess I should introduce myself as well! My name is Danae and I'm from Ohio in the US. My favorite genre is definitely YA, but I read a bit of everything if it sounds good.

My favorite books of all time are One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey and In Cold Blood by Truman Capote. Which probably explains why I studied Psychology and Criminology in college!

201612 Hi Preksha! So glad to meet you! I haven't read the Throne of Glass series yet, but everyone loves it, so it's definitely on my list!

Preksha wrote: "Hi, I'm Preksha from Bombay, favourite book, the list would be endless and genre would be fantasy, YA, classics, comics and more. I am currently reading Empire of Storms by Sarah J Maas"

201612 This is our very first pick for our BOTM read! Since it's already the end of October, we won't have time to pick a November read, so we'll jump ahead to thinking about December! Leave your group read suggestions below-- We'll keep this thread open until around the 15th of November, then we'll put it up to a vote!

201612 We pick a book each month to read together, but I'm sure for a lot of us, it won't be the only one we pick up. Let's share all the other great books we're reading! We may just find our next favorite book!

Feel free to start a new topic in this category about that awesome book you just read! But as always, please be mindful of spoilers.

201612 We'll keep this updated with some of the Frequently Asked Questions we get, so keep checking back to see if your question has already been answered!

Q: I'm not sure how or where to post...
A: There are several ways to post, and all of them are easy! First, you can post a reply directly from the Group Home page. Just click on the post you want to reply to and add your comment!

However, the Group Home page only shows the most recent 5 topics for each category. To view the other posts, reply to, or start a new topic within a category, use the Discussions link located on the right side of the page under our header (1st column, 3rd row). From there, you can click on a category to reply or add to. To create a new thread within a category, there is a link at the top right that says "new topic". Click that, add a title, and type away!

Not sure what category your post falls under? No sweat. On the main Discussions page, click the link at the top right that says "new topic". In the dropdown menu to choose a category, don't choose any. It will default to a General category. From there, we, as moderators, can move it to its appropriate location or create a brand new one! *Note- we may change the title of your discussion in order to make it more clear to the rest of the members. We will also add a comment to the post about where we have moved it to, so you know where it ended up!

Q: How do I hide a spoiler in my post?
A: It's very easy! Simply type "spoiler"--without the quotation marks-- in the middle of these guys < > before you start to spill the beans. When you're all done giving the juicy details, type "/spoiler"--again, no quotes-- inside < > at the very end of your last spoiler sentence. And tada! It's done! It will look like this-- (view spoiler)

Q: How is the Book of the Month picked?
A: At the beginning of each month, we will open a post up for suggestions of what to read the following month. Then somewhere near the middle of the month, we'll compile the list of suggestions and have a poll for all the members to vote on. Top vote getter will become our next pick and will be announced by the end of the month!

Q: I'm an author and I'd like to share my book with the members of the group. Is that okay?
A: We have an Author Promotions section, so yes! As long as it is shared within the appropriate place and you do not spam, you're welcome to share.

201612 We want to keep this group fun and interactive, so we have a few basic guidelines that we all should follow.

1. Be respectful of all members. We're all here because we love to read, but as with any group, we may have differing opinions on topics. Respectful discussion is encouraged, but please keep it civil! Any comments that go beyond the realm of discussion into abuse or personal attacks will be deleted and those members will be banned from the group. We're here for fun. Let's keep it fun!

2. Be cautious of language. We welcome all members to the group, so please be respectful of younger members and those who may be sensitive to mature language.

3. No spam. Please don't post the same thing over and over again. No one likes that. It will be deleted and repeat offenders will be banned.

4. If you're going to post a spoiler... WARN US! No one wants to be spoiled of the big shocking plot twist before we get there. So post a spoiler warning, or better yet, hide it with HTML. (To hide it, type "spoiler" inside these guys < > before the beginning of your spoiler sentence-- without the quotations. When you're all done with the juicy details, type "/spoiler" inside these guys < > at the very end. It will look like this--(view spoiler)).

5. If you have any issues or concerns with the group or any members of the group, please contact the moderators directly to work to resolve the issue.
