201650 In this week's chapters of Nevernight, a lot has happened. We'd love to hear what you think! To get the discussion started, we've again come up with some questions:
1. How did you feel about Mia and Tric getting together?
2. Tric is afraid he won't be the same if Mariella changes his face, taking away his tattoos. Mia then tells him it's the inside that counts. Would you feel more like Tric or more like Mia when it comes to what Mariella does?
3. What do you make of chapter 27? Do you think it was another dream, or another flashback?
4. And what do you think of both being set in the same lay-out? Did you find it easy to make out what Mia's real memories were and what she dreamed?
5. What was your favorite moment in these chapters?

You can take part in the discussion here, on our blog, and on Instagram!

201650 This first week of January, we've been reading Nevernight. We're really curious to hear your thoughts so far! To get the discussion started, we've come up with a few questions:

3. What do you think of Tric?
4. Have you thought about how Mia got her shadow powers? Do you think we will find out later?
5. What do you think of the footnotes?

Be sure to join in on the discussion here, on our blog or on Instagram! Have fun reading this week's chapters, and the Harry Potter discussion will be up soon as well:)
201650 Happy New Year everyone! Thanks for reading with us the past few months, we hope to have a lot of fun continuing the bookclub in 2017!

We've come to the end of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets! We hope everyone enjoyed reading along with us and getting lost in this beautiful world that JK Rowling created. Here are the weeks discussion questions - remember that you can also join in the talk on our blog and Instagram!

1. Did you suspect Hagrid for opening the Chamber as well?
2. Do you think that Tom Riddle being the young Lord Voldemort was predictable or a clever twist?
3. What do you think of the monster? Is it scary enough for you?
4. How do you feel about Mr Malfoy's role in it all?
5. What did you think of the book as a whole once you'd finished it?

201650 Hey everyone! I hope that the holidays were brilliant for you and you got a lot of books! I hope you're all enjoying A Monster Calls as much as I am! (I actually read ahead and finished it one night because it's so brilliant). Here are the discussion questions! So sorry that they are late, Christmas was a busy time.

1. What do you think of the beautiful illustrations? (If you have the illustrated edition)
2. What did you think about how the second story ended?
3. Did Connor's mothers connection to the Yew tree surprise you?
4. Do you think that the Yew tree will heal Connors mom?

As always, the discussion will be up on our blog and Instagram too!
201650 It's already time for our second discussion of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. In these chapters, we've followed Harry throughout his first weeks of school. Ron has received a Howler, they've had their detentions, they've worked on the Mandrakes, and they've visited a Deathday Party. But most important of all, Harry has heard a weird voice that no-one else has heard, and Harry, Ron and Hermione have been the first people to see a disturbing message on the wall: "The Chamber of Secrets has been opened. Enemies of the heir, beware."

All in all, we have plenty to discuss! We've come up with some questions again to get the discussion going:

1. What are your thoughts on Gilderoy Lockhart?
2. If you were Harry, would you have attended the Deathday Party, or would you have come up with some excuse?
3. Did you find the mysterious voice scary?
4. Do you think it's already clear who opened the Chamber of Secrets?
5. Which of the events in these chapters is your favorite?

You can take part in this discussion on here, on our blog and/or on Instagram. Also, don't forget to participate in this week's Instagram challenge, by showing us which pet you would want to bring to Hogwarts!

201650 Aside from reading the first five chapters of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets this past week, we've also been reading the first 52 pages of Patrick Ness' A Monster Calls. We've prepared some questions for our first discussion of this book:

1. The monster really wants Conor to be afraid of it, but it can't get him to fear it. Do you think Conor is right in not being afraid of it, or is the monster genuinely scary?
2. Do you think Conor's anger toward Lily is justified, or do you feel that he might be overreacting a little?
3. What are your thoughts on the relationship between Conor and his mother and grandmother?
4. What was your favorite thing that happened in this first part of the book?

Have fun with this discussion! You can join in here, on our blog or on Instagram.
201650 The second week of November flew by, so it's already time for our second discussion! This week we've read chapters 5-9, in which Harry sets foot at Hogwarts for the first time, among other things. If you've read the book before or you've read ahead, please don't mention any spoilers for the next chapters or the next books in the series!

Again, we've prepared some questions to discuss:
1. Which Diagon Alley shop would you love to roam?
2. What did you think of the way Harry, Ron and Hermione met?
3. Do you think Harry should've been sorted in Gryffindor indeed? And why (not)?
4. What did you think of the teachers we've met so far? (Dumbledore, McGonagall and Snape, for example)
5. What was your favourite moment in these chapters?

Of course you're welcome to comment with your own questions too! This discussion post will be up on our Goodreads group as well, so if you're a Goodreads member, feel free to add us! Also, the discussion post will be up on our Instagram page. You can join in either of these discussions. Have fun! Next week, we'll be reading chapters 10-14. It's never too late to join in!
