Here is my theory: According to Plato, North America was the continent of Atlantis, Florida was the giant plain of Atlantis, and Tampa Florida was the first City of Atlantis. North America and South America made up the boundless continent Plato wrote about. According to him, the continent of Atlantis was divided into ten kingdoms. The country of Atlantis was one of those ten kingdoms. From that point of view, all of Plato’s terrain features can be accounted for and verified. That includes the hill that held the royal palace with three moats around it. Because of errors in Plato’s work, researchers assumed that the island of Atlantis was circular. It is triangular! My theory takes you to the small triangular island of Atlantis which is still surrounded by three large canals.
Some of the greatest academic minds in the world have studied this story and missed several important errors in Plato’s work. For instance, the idea that the continent of Atlantis sank in the Atlantic Ocean is a false assumption. When we ignore the assumptions and correct the errors in translation, we can make corrections to Plato’s story using the terrain features he described. Some of the errors clearly show that someone mistakenly translated a hill as a mountain. Those errors caused scholars and Atlantologists to look for false images. My goal here is to make Plato’s complex story easy to read, easy to follow, and easy to decode.
If your are interested in the world’s greatest mystery, read Plato’s story to see if you agree with me or not. Either way, you get to see the evidence I have to offer. Please use the links below to reference Plato’s story and to visit the location of the former city of Atlantis. Hopefully, during the discussion, you will learn something new about Atlantis.

Note: Since Plato’s following quote claims that the Atlantis continent was sunk by an earthquake, let’s treat it as a false assumption and continue with the story where Plato describes the terrain features found within both the Royal City and the greater City of Atlantis. Also, the following quote shows that Plato uses the terms islands, continents, and island-continents in different ways. Also, some of the errors clearly show that someone mistakenly translated the term “hill” to mean mountain. Those errors led scholars and Atlantologists to look for mountains on the small island of Atlantis within the royal city. That was a big mistake. However, knowing that mistake lets us study the rest of the terrain features with a better understanding.
Note: Here is the first false assumption: Plato: “Atlantis, which, as was saying, was an island greater in extent than Libya and Asia, and when afterwards sunk by an earthquake, became an impassable barrier of mud to voyagers sailing from hence to any part of the ocean.”
