I didn't know Calibre allowed more! nice! Still would be a crazy slog though with 17,000! I have something like 4,000 in Logos, but still don't want them all in there unshelved... hmmm....
Not sure. I remember trying via csv file, but you could only add a limited number of books (10 or something), which was way more involvement than I wanted to invest. Maybe there’s another way but I’m not sure. I’ve found that messaging the goodreads staff is always helpful as well!
Grasping God's Word: A Hands-On Approach to Reading, Interpreting, and Applying the BibleI recently started reading J. Scott Duvall's "Grasping God's Word." I'm really liking all the different details that Duvall covers in the study of the Bible. I'm only about a fifth of the way through, but really enjoying this book so far! It has helped me see many different avenues in the study of the Bible and I will use the things I learned here in the future as I study. I'm excited for what else I will learn here! I'm currently reading the print version (although a Logos version exists). I like the print version more because it has space to do the assignments right in the book! This makes it work great as a self study book, and the principals I learn I can put to practice immediately through the assignments!
Yes, it's a ridiculously old commentary, but I do really find that this commentary is the very best for quickly addressing areas that are difficult to understand. 90% of the time that I have a glaring question about the text, I can find the answer in Poole's commentary. This is my go to commentary when I have random questions in my regular reading. I am amazed at Matthew Poole's clear exposition and understanding of the many more difficult areas of Scripture. I think Poole thought the same way that I do, he just is so helpful so often it's amazing! And the Logos version makes looking anything up a snap!
Voices from the past looks great! I own it, but have yet to dive in. So many books and not enough time to read them all!
The Psalms and Hymns of Isaac WattsI'm also currently reading 'The Psalms and Hymns of Isaac Watts.' Watts writes a hymn for every Psalm! But really it's more of a rewriting of the Psalm in English with the rhyming scheme intact in English. What an amazing concept! I did not think it would be such a devotionally rich book, but as I read it with the Psalms I find it to be one of the best devotional works I have ever read! It's absolutely awe provoking, and I'm really enjoying it! Perhaps this is how the original readers of the Hebrew Psalms felt as they read them!
Also, after purchasing the hardback copy of this, I found that I already owned the Logos version! I had no idea. It must have come in a package somewhere along the line. So if you're interested, check your library first!

I might post about each book I'm in here and there sporadically. But for now I'm really enjoying Hawker's Poor Man's Commentary. The end of chapter devotions in particular are excellent in conjunction with my Bible reading.
