Superior Foes of Spider Man is consistently funny and currently my favorite book right now. Fans of Fraction's Hawkeye would like it, without a doubt. It look like the same will be able to be said for the new She Hulk book.Oh and Rat Queens (comic fantasy), duh! Also Ed Brubaker's Velvet (Spy) and Fatale (Horror Noir) and Rucka's Stumptown (P.I.).
I'll second 'Hush' it's just got that classic superhero vibe, same writer as Long Halloween but totally different take. And by all means, get your hand on The Black Mirror. Solid stuff, and quite creepy.
Enjoying World's Finest. Love the idea of Batman's daughter being Robin. Do they explore that in the 'Earth 2' series?Only managed to get issue 3 of Captain Marvel (featuring a female Captain Marvel in WWII) but it looks very promising, and from what I hear it's Marvel's surprise hit (2nd printings due out soon).
Loving the TPBs of Justice League International from the late '80s (Giffen/DeMatteis writers). If you like the funny banter of the Iron Man movies, you'll love this!
If you are interested in seeing Batgirl: Year One animated, there is a petition here:http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/b...
Also, I find it easier to suspend disbelief when reading comic books vs. watching a live action film, especially when costumed super heroes are involved. And I enjoy the illustrations.
Batgirl I (Barbara Gordon) as seen in Batgirl: Year Onehttp://www.goodreads.com/book/show/10...
Batgirl III (Stephanie Brown) as seen in her own series by Bryan Q. Miller, collected in three graphic novels. The last of which you might still find in print (get it before it starts going for forty plus dollars used, like the other two): http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/11...
There's just so much more to explore in the world of comic books. More characters, more story lines, the different artists and writers. There's a universe of comics but only a hamlet of comic book movies.
