203598 Excellent
203598 which is ripe with areas of discussion.
I wrote of this book: " I came in unfamiliar with Van Jones having never seen any of his tv programs but the more I read the more I liked him.
Many of nonfiction books I've read lately that talk about race explain problems but don't offer solutions.
Van Jones does both, in my opinion, and I found that refreshing. And instead of taking the easy predictable route of, for example, suggesting all Trump supporters must be racist and sexist since Trump is Van Jones instead interviews and describes Trump supporters who met who voted for him because of his positions on various issues and are not sexist or racist.
He has passages that talk about what liberals need to do better. He talks early on about one of the big mistakes Hillary Clinton's campaign made, namely focusing so much on marginalized groups that they took the white vote for granted... oops.
So he suggests what both parties do better, what nuances readers and voters need to do, etc. And the last part of the book is full of resources on where one can learn more, do more, understand more.
Good stuff."
The discussion will follow the 3-5 pm policy meeting

203598 The book discussion for Van Jones's book, "Behind the Messy Truth," has been moved from Dec. 3 to Dec. 17, after the policy discussion, so more people will have time to read it. It's going to be a ripe for lots of conversations.
