2051 So have you started to at least read what you can yet? if so, what do you think so far?

Don't worry, the reading is taking much longer to get through than I had expected, so I think I'm going to go with plan B & make this month's discussion only about A Question of Upbringing. If everyone else is alright with that. If not, I'm still only going to be reading A Question of Upbringing this month anyways :P

I'm with you on that one. I find it nearly impossible to read a book after I've seen the movies, too. That's why I have yet to pick up any of the LOTR books because I know they're pretty long reads & I feel like I would just be like "oh, and next this happens..." There are so many others that I feel the same way about, too. Kind of disappointed in myself...

2051 1. Fifty Shades Darker (Fifty Shades of Grey #2)
Fifty Shades Darker (Fifty Shades, #2) by E.L. James 1.2.13 - 532 pages *****

All sorts of kinky shenanigans in this one as well! Some easy, light reading to kick off my new year.

2051 My first thought was The Princess Bride as well! I read the book first & then watched the movie upon a friends insistent poking. I love them both! & I love the Hunger Games as well, read the book first on that one too & was really dreading the movie because I never thought Hollywood could do it justice. I was way wrong! They didn't butcher it like I was expecting & I am now eagerly awaiting the sequel!
2051 Ha! So upon a more detailed inspection of my copy, it turns out each 200+ page book, is only 4-5 chapters long. So this isn't going to be a book that I can just read a few chapters before I go to bed.

So my suggested itinerary for this book is:
Jan 1st-10th - A Question of Upbringing
Jan 11th-20th - A buyer's Market
Jan 21st-31st - The Acceptance World

I'll try to post thoughts & questions in the last few days of each of the periods, but I've got a busy schedule with work & my pregnancy, so if I forget or can't get to it please don't be upset! I'll apologize in advance for that. So please, don't be afraid to voice your thoughts or questions! No shyness allowed here! =)

Enjoy, Everybody!
2051 Well Everybody, Welcome to the New Year! & we're kicking it off with A Dance to the Music of Time: 1st Movement. At first glance, my edition appeared to be a pretty hefty volume, but when I peered inside I discovered that the print is actually a pretty decent size, not microscopic like I was initially expecting. But there are also 3 books inside of the 1st Movement. We have A Question of Upbringing, A Buyer's Market, & The Acceptance World. So I guess we can see how everyone is doing & this month can either be a discussion of the whole 1st Movement or maybe just the first one or two books. How does that sound?

2051 Starting the year off with a Group Read!
A Dance to the Music of Time: First Movement
A Dance to the Music of Time 1st Movement by Anthony Powell
2051 I'm on the second book in the A Song of Ice & Fire series, but if A Game of Thrones is picked I will definitely love to join in on the discussion.
2051 I'll kick it off & nominate A Dance to the Music of Time: 1st Movement by Anthony Powell. Of course I'd be willing to moderate it as well for either of the months

2051 I like the writing, I don't think I'll have any troubles getting through this one like I did Emma.

2051 Wow! Sorry about disappearing on you guys for so long! But guess what! I'm gonna be a momma! So I've been a little busy & away from the interweb for the last few weeks, but I have been trying to read as much of 1984 in the little downtime that I have had. I'll try to keep up with you guys on here since I'll be having a few long weekends coming up thanks to the holidays :) Happy reading, everybody!

Emma

Emma by Jane Austen Currently Reading
-Holy crap. Cannot get into this book. :/

2051 I'm finding it hard to keep reading because of the style of language & whatnot, but aside from that I do find Emma's character a little annoying. I keep comparing her to Cher from Clueless (I think that was her name, right?) but where Cher was easy to like, Emma's not so much. Perhaps it's the era the two are set in or the credit is due to the actress, but either way Emma falls short =/

2051 My pleasure. I have next to nothing on my schedule besides work & read, so I really don't mind moderating :)
