Welcome Elisa it's wonderful to meet you!

It's the start of the read-a-long so I thought I'd kickstart our discussion by talking about my absolute love for Kendra as a heroine.

I think what I love most about Kendra isn't only that at first she's a reluctant heroine, but that she's one that understands the difference between skill and arrogance. Although she has skills of her own, she's always open to learning more and to honing her existing skills. She's never too proud to take advice or training from those around her. I've read about far too many heroines who pushed people away and displayed 'strength' constantly - but true strength in a true heroine, is embracing one's abilities and flaws, and knowing when to ask for aid.

The Whirl December Read-A-Long will be in two parts:

(A) Part A is the Read-A-Long itself which will be hosted via this Goodreads group where discussion for the chapters will be posted. The Goodreads Read-A-Long will run from the 7th - 13th of December.

(B) Part B is the Facebook chat. This will be hosted in the Raveling Readers group. It'll go on for a good 24 hours so everyone wherever they may live will get a chance to join in. It'll be a combined chat + an awesome giveaway! This will run on the 14th of December.
