Progress! I have made some! Ha! I am also on target with my personal goal of 25 books. Woot. a book released in 2017
a book written before 1900
a non-fiction book
a kids book Star Wars: Rogue One: Secret Mission
a YA novel
a book of fantastical fiction (fantasy/scifi/paranormal)
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
a cozy mystery
a debut novel
a book of poetry or drama (that is to say a play, not just ~dramatic~)
a biography/autobiography/memoir
a book written by someone under the age of 30
a media tie-in (clarification in a thread)
an LGBTQIA* book
a book about food
a scary/creepy book
a book that is part of a series but not the first book (could be a later released prequel though)Francis Ford Coppola Presents Zoetrope: All-Story The Latin American Issue
a Goodreads Choice Awards winner (any year, any category)
a book with an animal on the cover
a book mostly set in the desert
a book that was adapted into a movie
After re-reading the categories more carefully, I realized I needed to put one of my Rogue One books in the appropriate place. I can't count it as a media tie in or book that was adapted into a movie. At least I don't think so, since the movie came first. Anyway. There isn't a theme here. It's your imagination.
I did just read two Rogue One novelizations. I know, obsessed much? One was geared towards children, and one towards adults. I counted them towards my kids book and my book based on movie categories. :-)
I didn't know that about Calvin and Hobbes!!! What a cool fact. Thank you for sharing! It's my favorite of all time too! I own each of the collections and have Hobbes tattooed on my leg. Great comics. :) I'm just going to put this out there, and I know not everyone is a fan, but I loved Eragon. There's four books in the series but the first is the best. He wrote it at some ridiculously young age, like 15 or something.
Of course I have more to add to my love list. ;-) I'm having trouble finding my original comment to see what I even wrote though! Haha
Thanks for the invite! :-) I was invited last year but truthfully, I did poorly. I haven't read this few books in a year in a very long time. I work two jobs, one of which is full time, and this is usually my excuse. But I love reading so much and I was so sad not to make enough time for it last year. Hoping to change that this year. My name is Jenny and I live in the capital city of California, Sacramento. I work in HR during the day, and I drive for lyft by night. I have one furbaby named Kyo, who is orange and pudgy. I love chocolate, sunsets, traveling, dreaming, beer, cheese, and movies!
I love to read thrillers and historical fiction. I hate to read anything boring, and I'm not a fan of most westerns.
I look forward to this year's scary/creepy category as well as the LGBTQ+ category, two genres I enjoy. None really scare me this year, but the more difficult to find just the right book categories might give me some trouble. The animal on the cover, or a book set in the desert, to name a few.
Thanks again for including me and good luck to everyone! :-)
