Anyways, anyone else want to take over Mod duties? Should we vote? I am just never active here any more and I am much too busy with other things in life for the foreseeable future.

I know this part wasn’t really directed at me, but I’m not sure I understand the angle “religions aren’t the only ones with bad ideas out there so why are you singling them out?”
I call out all bad ideas! It just so happens religion is quite popular... for some god damn reason.
Dogma and indoctrination. Two things religions do really well at that’s for sure!

I like that not everyone has the exact same “approach” because not all people react the same. It takes different types of “conversations.”
And many religious people will take great offense to your critiques no matter how nice about it you are because of how deeply brainwashed they can be.

I’d not heard of that movie so I’ll put it on my list to watch! HBO’s Rome is a really great show as well. Highly recommended

I don’t really care either way for Russell Crow but I actually really liked that movie! Loved the music and Joaquin Phoenix’s acting.

Time to queue up one of those “the universe is way bigger than you can imagine” YouTube videos and laugh at the folly of the religious perception that everything in the universe was created for homosapiens 😂

Let’s not forget that Hitler was pals with the Catholic Church. The soldiers wore belts that said God with Us on them. They had to pledge to the Christian God. Hitler certainly used religion to help accomplish his goals.
I don’t know as much about Stalin but I’m pretty sure I’ve read that he used religious-like methods and ideologies.

If something doesn't make sense to you, That doesn't mean it's illogical or a "logical leap" it just means it didn't make sense to you. Maybe try to make sense of it first?

Religious people are, generally speaking, bigots by its definition - extremists and moderates alike. A bigot is someone who is "intolerant" of someone else's beliefs, and most of the religions I've ever heard of condemn those that do not have the same beliefs, which is actually intolerance/bigotry. Bigotry does not equal extremism. Both moderates and extremists can be considered bigots.

This is a complete digression from my comment, though. Perhaps watch the Youtube video I posted? Sam Harris can say it far better than I.
