210398 I had planned on maybe picking up the next book next month. I'd love to do another readalong, and this time I promise to comment every few chapters so I'm not at the end because of my bad memory xD I liked how you set it up and didn't get to use it efficiently rip. April or May would work for me, too

210398 Because I have such a terrible memory I don't remember when the few instances I am going to mention briefly happen. Thus I'll just stick my amusement in here. Its about Elodin, because I love him so much.

I think one of my favorite things about reading this book was the fact that any time Elodin would pop into the story I would smile, because I knew that I'd be highly entertained. He's so funny!! I never saw him as mad, he's too smart to fall into that level of despair. I'm with him, more fun to surprise and annoy people for entertainment purposes then live a boring life...not that I've done that, nope, no sir. x'D When Kvothe jumped from the roof there was genuine surprise and concern that he'd trusted Elodin enough , which kinda backfired but not through either's fault entirely.

One of my all time favorite scenes was when Kvothe was in the meeting with all the uni staff and was faced with the consequences of singing that song about Ambrose and Elodin is sitting next to the head person (I'm so terrible ansjafhsd whoever runs the uni) and starts singing the song I just died ahahha. I can't wait for more interactions between both Elodin and Kvothe in the next book.

210398 I was sooo lost in his world, and I don't just mean in his world building. Like, literally lost, even with the map I was hopeless, though whether because of my hopelessness or because the map was too barren to gauge at times, who knows. We'll leave that mystery in the bag heh. However I am very lost in Patrick's world and his building that up and explaining it all over time. I know that some people have talked about how they didn't like the book because it went into too much detail, but the details are what make his book great, and those who can't appreciate it just won't appreciate that style of writing. Its so interesting to read.

Definitely one of my favorite things about this book and Kvothe is the music and silence aspects. I've found very few books that go into detail and describe in great lengths both the beauty and fear of silence. Yesss Kvothe became my child very early on with his smarts and music talents bundled into a snarky, sarcastic person. Also Kvothe is such a badass name, I was talking with a friend while reading and we claimed we'd adopt a red haired boy and name him Kvothe. xD

I love the musical aspect as well, Patrick goes to great lengths to help the readers understand and appreciate creating music, and that made me so terribly happy as a musician. I remember one of the quotes I scribbled down was where Kvothe hated not being able play, he wanted to be a on stage and playing if there was music, and I related a lot to that.

Pat's world building is A+, I'm so intrigued and can't wait to read the next. As far as the gay vibes go, I wonder if we'll learn more about Bast and Kvothe's relationship and how they met in the future heh.
