Chapter 16-23 (19 new)

50x66 This book made me feel nervous and sad for what was going to happen next, at some parts annoyed, and other times happy. I was sad when they took Ky away and it made me nervous when when Cassias friend had a panic attack at the theater and Xander had to give her his pill to make her relax. One time i was annoyed is when the group was at the gaming place and a girl came up and started talking to Ky and watching him play. Cassia got very jealous and said "his hands are not yours to watch" and that kind of made me feel uncomfortable and annoyed. It made me happy when Cassia was happy with Ky but also sort of mad because she was keeping this big secret from Xander and he deserved to know right away so he wasn't liking her when she liked someone else. I think the author was trying to make me feel happy, nervous, and sad, but not annoyed and mad. Overall, the story made me feel about 5 main emotions.

50x66 The characters seem real and believable. Cassia, the protagonist, is matched with her best friend. At first she thinks they're perfect together, but then she see's someone else's face and starts to like the other person, Ky. She has to chose between two good people who are very different. Everyone has to make hard decisions in their life and Cassia is going throughout that in the book. I cannot relate to Cassias specific problem but i have had to make difficult decisions before. It doesn't relate to anyone i know that i'm aware of but i'm sure it happens.
Chapter 1-7 (23 new)

50x66 What's unique about the setting is that is shows what the United States could be like. In the book Matched, the government or the "society" controls everything from who you get married to to when you die. It takes place in a Province that exists where the United States used to be. On the outside of the government controlled "perfect world" that most people live in, there are others who are not as involved. They live in the outer provinces and some people who live there are called aberrations. Aberrations have either committed a crime or someone in they're family has and they are now not considered full citizens. They lose privileges such as getting married. The setting enhances the story by making you wonder what's going to go wrong because everyone in the society thinks the system is faultless.
