insane that this behavior (attempts to ban books) still exists in this day and age...just plain scary.
anybody wanna swap their we were the mulvaneys for oryx & crake or the emperor's children ?? i have started a new group called: bookswap on goodreads...you can post your haves and wants there and see if you can match off perfectly with anyone and mail each other books....
not a feast of love quote. sounds like bridges of madison county...which was pretty darn romantic, i must admit. i'd forgotten about that book.
hello. my name is kyle and i am going to be a goodreadsaholic very very soon. right now i'm just having fun...yeah, right. i "came out" as a goodreadsaholic to mimi privately and am ready to take the plunge and admit my growing addiction to the community at large.
having said that, i want to find a way to "manage" this habit....cause it's fun! i am really enjoying playing with my little book lists and looking at what everyone else is reading and enjoying the company and intellectual stimulation of fellow readers. i had quit reading (or couldn't finish books) for a few years, so am very very excited (and gratified) to be back reading...it's just that i've come back hungry.
we'll all have to find a balance, won't we??

if i'm not mistaken, the most dangerous portions of a plane flight are the takeoffs and the landing...and so it goes, i think, with the novel (probably all other genres as well). i just finished the alienist and it would have garnered 4 stars from me had it not been for that ending....rushed; pat; forced; almost disingenuous; not as well researched. great book overall, almost 4 stars...until the end. oh well.
good question. not sure i'm prepared to answer yet...lemme think about it. but i CAN answer a related question: what's the best most recent book you've read about love...answer to that is: Feast of Love by Charles Baxter. if you haven't already, enjoy!
not sure i'm ready to answer that question. i will, however, answer a related question: what's the latest good book about love i've read? and the answer to THAT is Feast of Love. if you haven't yet, enjoy.
