214385 Well, a little less old than the big bang, because atoms only became possible some 300,000 years afterwards. Until then it was simply too hot.
So some hydrogen and helium atoms may be nearly as old as the universe.

214385 Wrong Alok. Matter can be created or destroyed, it's happening every day. Energy can't.
But I agree that the atoms in our body are probably as old as the earth.
