Twilight is what it is meant to be: a series about teenage love for teenagers. If you aren't a teenager or someone who likes to read romance, you aren't going to enjoy it. Harry Potter has more universal appeal, not because of the story line, but because of the complexity of the subject and the manner in which it was written. JK Rowling is a writer who can spin an amazing web of a story. HP has humor, adventure, plot twists, characters who grow, and mystery. As so many people on this site have already said, two different genres. And even though the audiences might be similar chronologically, they are worlds apart in what they want from a book. just my opinion...
A while ago, I read the book The Help by Kathyrn Sto kkard (not sure of last name). Great book of women who love actual history interwoven into a tale that takes you to the south during integration.
