217423 Glad to have you here, Adam! Hopefully we'll see you at one of the in-person meetings. Yeah, we try to keep the book/author selections diverse. I've personally found several books I really loved that I never would have checked out if not for them being club picks.
217423 Nice! It'll be awesome to see you back :)

217423 So I'm having a pretty hard time getting into this book. It's kind of a me thing, but there's a lot of language and terms that aren't grounded enough in things I'm familiar with, so I have trouble picturing or relating to them. It's the reason I have trouble getting into hard scifi; it's just a little too abstract. Anyone else have that issue, or just me?

Sounds like this might be a good c..."

Yeah, Three-Body Problem was our April 2016 pick. It's actually the one that got me to join, since I'd wanted to read it for a while. It's a fascinating book. I thought it was weird at first, esp since I wasn't familiar with Chinese history, but the excellent translation and footnotes made things easier. I loved the book.

I haven't heard of The Four Books, but it sounds interesting, especially if the translation is as good as TTBP's.

217423 My apologies for neglecting the discussion boards everyone. My life has been pretty chaotic the past couple of months. Fortunately, things have settled down and I've added discussion threads for both the current pick, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, and last month's pick, Let The Right One In. I should be able to keep things up better going forward. Thanks for the feedback, and I'm glad people are liking the streamlined book pick discussion threads. Keep the feedback coming, if anyone has any, and happy holiday reading to you all!
