so sad to hear about your cousin... he sounds like an intrepid guy.... this is indeed a tiny planet...i have been talking about Maeve so often lately - read some of her words at a homebirth meeting last night...
home with a sick daughter today so i won't linger here...
good to see you Julie... don't envy your busy life though!!!
well i will be going to the library today and will suss it out.... really good to be filling up on this nourishment... although all i feel like doing today is sitting with my head in Maeve's lap and having her stroke my hair and tell me some stories
i don't want to guess what you have written on your wall Halee but i do want to know!!!the parenting issues raised for me are about secret keeping, keeping your child safe, and finding something you have lost... just for a starter there...
i have a crossed line of communication with one of my children and it is painful beyond measure... she doesn't have the love of a grandparent to cushion that which is painful too....and i felt this being close to Maeve's experience with her daughter...
also seeing your child being drawn to something you were certain would be harmful and yet being powerless to stop it...
i also felt Maeve being unseen there, up in the mountains...very powerful to me
sorry i am replying in soundbites but my daily life is asking much of me today...
i will be back...
well i have been a slackarse here sorry but i am so excited by the chance to chat about Maeve and how she has woven into my life in such a big way.... welcome Halee - i am interested to hear more about your sacred sexuality studies and committments... please tell me more
my only chance to hear Elizabeth sing is from the internet but i intend to buy the cd she and Tim Dillinger are working on right now... her blog tells of the story of making it and it makes me get shivery just thinking about it... geis not necessary in my case then
i live in New Zealand and i am ordering the three books (and considering Elizabeth's other books while i am about it) as my Christmas present to myself! Bless whatever librarian it was who was insightful enough to buy them for our tiny library!
Peni - i think she did have fun fleshing out Mary and Martha etc - i read a great New Zealand author's book called my name was Judas, by CK Stead if you are interested in the fleshing out of biblical characters - but Maeve is so so much more
i find her filling up my thoughts ......
finished it and loved it!!! bummer it is going to take a while... i don't blame you for ordering it Peni - they are books i would love to have!

yep i read it but i didn't think beyond what was right on the page... trying hard not to guess now so i can have it unfold before my eyes!!!
Peni wrote: "I have sent invites to 2 other Cunningham fans; hope they join our little group!"fantastic Peni!
i don't have my scanner sorted so if someone wants to do it that is cool...i am waiting for the bright dark madonna to come free at the library - only one person reading it before me (hurry damnit hurry!!!) so no extra clues right Peni!!!
