The Prince of Thorns series by Mark Lawrence. It has a great alternate universe with a theme of things left over after a (likely) nuclear disaster that is similar to the Gunslinger's world. It's dark and I really enjoyed it. I also recommend the Miriam Black series by Chuck Wendig. Although it doesn't have much in common with the dark tower specifically, fans of King's work will likely enjoy these books.
