This is perhaps unrelated but, interesting and somewhat related as a starting point that SK may have had interest in when weaving his tale of The Dark Tower.

Thanks Michelle. If you have the opportunity to pick up the trade paperback of the comic series by Robin Furth and Peter David, you MUST! They add layers to the Tower story that King has approved. Some of those are gut wretching, like the final battle for Jericho Hill. I recommend these to any devoted Tower follower. All things follow the beam.

I'm shocked nobody has ever mentioned some one like Gary Oldman who is very diverse and can be incredibly intimidating as an individual bent on carrying out acts of sheer evil.

The ending was perfect and it IS the only way it could have ended. How would you wrap up the Tower? It's like understanding the meaning of life and the creator. It's not for humans, nor could they fathom the answers. This we are left with the only ending we could comprehend.
I was actually in tears as he called out all the names of those who had fallen and didn't realize it until I saw water marks on the page. It was truly moving and the series itself is what I feel is the most incredible story told.
I wish it could find its way to the screen be it movie or tv based but, it may be tough on me and other readers who hold this series so close to our heart.
