The whole purpose of this series was a journey, and once it ends for us, it begins again for another. It reminds me of how I came upon this series. My husband read it (Roland finds the tower,) then I did (Roland finds the tower again,) and then my father read it after me (Roland comes full-circle again.)
I really enjoyed The Drawing of the Three as well. I LOVED Eddie's story, and I listened to the whole series on CD, and Frank Muller was absolutely amazing. I laughed so hard at his interpretation of Eddie, and the whole "Johnny Cash" trivia scene had my stomach hurting. I also really enjoyed Wolves of the Calla. The whole sisters of Oriza was fascinating, and I found myself wanting to get in the book and throw some plates at those steel morons!
I just found out why Muller doesn't read them! That is so sad about his accident, but I am happy to see King doing something to help him. I really missed hearing him read when I listened to the fifth book. Guidall is good, but he is just not Muller.
I am absolutely LOVING Wizard and Glass. It's also very refreshing to see that Stephen King can write romance as well as he writes horror. Roland and Susan are quite a tragic couple. Since I bought the Gunslinger comics before I read this book, I went back and reread them so they actually make sense now! I am looking forward to the next series of them coming out soon.
Ah! I did notice that he doesn't read the last three. However, if you say he's good, I'll give it a try. My husband has all the books, so if I can't find one on audio at the library, I can still read them, too.
I am getting ready to move on to Wizard and Glass, but since I have been listening to Frank Muller read the books incredibly well on CD, I want to check out those audio CDs from the library. Muller is absolutely awesome at narrating these books!
