The quote “In a dark time, the eye begins to see,” By Theodore Roethke mean that as we know life is not always fair if it is a bad time you may change it from a good period. I agree with the quote because you can change anything from darker to a clear way. Two book that support this is Long Way gone and America at War. Both books discuss about how life use to be in the darkness and when the person realized and change it.
In The Book Long Way Gone by Ishmael Beah, he discuss about when he was in the Darkness for example: during the Civil war in sierra Leone he was in the darkness his life has changed his was in a deep darkness; the only thing that was in his way was violence, and he became a child soldier which really bring he at the high darkness. However he started realizing that he is in the darkness that was the time he understands that what he is doing was not clear. He got lucky and pulls his self out of it. He was rescue and he got lucky to be sending to the united nation that when he rally understand he was he a deep darkness.
In the Book America at War discuss about how America was in darkness by terrorist attack in September eleven, and how the American government had a solution of solving it to the better way.
In September 11 America was in a darkness which really brings their nation at a level were it should not be for example: they lost lot of lives; money; and property. However after the 911 attack they begging to know that they were in darkness and they have seen that if they don’t take actions of the darkness it wills growth at a level were they will not see it. We as human always sees the darkness if may be fast for some and it will take long for other. So they started to pay attention on terrorist. They set up many rule in the Airport to keep their nation out of danger.
There fore that I agree with the quote because according to these two texts we can see how the eyes will see in the darker. This Is also connected to the book of Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglas because Frederick was a black slaves he was In a darkness were he was really dehumanized as a human being but for him it takes; a little time to see the darker, after he had seen it he planed to escaped for that darkness to a clear way.

the conflict in my story is still the war that Ismael faced he his struggling the place were he was living were destroy he family was kill he is trying to go to his grandmother house this in interesting to because i had faced it before coming to the usa the conflict is developping the book story it is teaching many people what's a real war is

hey Luis my character also need Freedom but not to go hang whith friend but to be in peace

WOW Estefani your book is litle be connected with my book my character too need peace because he has many problem going on he wanted it to be gone and live in peace

My character need Freedom because in the place were he lived at is dangerous it has many violence going on.Most of his familly got killed he was control by the RUF which drugs him and force him to kill people. he wanted to be out of Sierra Leone he felt so sorry for killing many people it wasn't by his decision he was forced to do it even though he don't want to for now my character is part of the RUF menmber but he hope to be out of it.

the important think of my book is that it tell how ismael suffer before the war happen he went to a different city in sierra leone and he heared that his city where he and his familly lived at had been attacked and he was worried then he came back all his family member were kills this is important to ismael because this is the greatest suffers that he had never faced in life

I'm reading the book "Long Way Gone" by Ismaiel Beah i choose this book because it is a book about the civil war in my country sierra leone when the war happen i was a baby i never had a change to hear the causes of it from someone but now i found this book that has all imformation about it i'm on page 3 the author is explaining what happened before the war started
