I think that this quote in my interpretation means that you can only see when you are in a dark or bad condition.this quote is connected with two books that i read by frederick douglass and and the bully part of the bluford series.
In frederick douglass narrative , white masters do not see the inconvenients of slavely and the means of how slaves were trated . however slaves do see it because they have been in bad conditions and they may know how their life will be in the future or end up. because as the quote says in the dark time , the eye begins to see , therefore the slaves are seen things that their masters do not see about their wretched lives or even think of. because their have been served , furthermore live in good conditions.
In the bully , taray started seen how bad is to tread peoples when the kids he was scaring or bullying puted him down. because before , all kids in bluford feared him because he was a tall , powerful and known as a gang street. therefore he used to take kids lunch money to hang out the street with guys that feared him , he called friends. however everything changed when darell mercer one of tke kids that feared him the most decided to change his life , to fight back , furthermore darell even imuliated him at the cafeteria in front of everyboby by beaten him up furthrmore he broke his arm. therefore , that was the day taray started to see that it's in the dark , the eye begins to see because he felt the pain that kids have been through when he had the power.

i'm reading the bully by paul langan , i choose this book because i fell interested about the theme and would like to know better about his life in high school !!!

darell my book main character needs someone, a real friend like malik reggie or mark to help him at the bluford high where his facing troubles with tyray and his friends, they think that he's not suppose to be in high school because he's to short have no muscles and look like a kid , so he need someone to help him survive he want to fight for himself

the major theme of my book is violence , and it's important to him because he suffer a lot! spending his life in fear , in the bluford high where he had no one to fight for him!!
