Congratulations on your SpeedPoets success, Phillip! Are the poems going to be published in an e-zine, or in a magazine? I googled "speed poets" and found their web page, but found no reference to their publication(s). Phillip wrote: "Just an update: 3 poems have been accepted by SpeedPoets, 1 per issue from March to May 2011.
Keep up the good work!"
Reminds me of the Simpsons movie in which the EPA places a dome over Springfield to quarantine it : )
I feel incredibly embarrassed : )It's actually RICHARD who should be receiving the congratulations - he sent me the message with the instruction to post it where I thought it should be posted because he didn't know where to post it. Sorry about the confusion, folks!
Well done Richard! (forwarded message below)Hi Glenn,
I don't know where to put this so please move it to the correct area. I'm busy emailing all Canadian high schools (440 done ? to go). I've contacted every Canadian library and the central library in every shire in England. And the result? In three weeks of being published in Canada, I'm in the 'top rated' category in Fictionwise! It's my 65th birthday today and that has lit the candles.
Thanks, Yvonne. I've re-posted my paper on my Goodreads web page as it will go to print next year in "The Beacon" (i.e. with the changes I've made since pulling it off my web page to make those changes).
For those of you interested in the occult, "The Beacon" magazine, a magazine of occult philosophy, is going to publish my first non-poetry piece, a paper titled "On the Etheric Body and the Causes of Ill Health" (which I had posted on my Goodreads page but have since pulled it off to make some changes before it goes to publication). I know it's only a small achievement compared to what some of you have achieved, but I still feel pleased with the result. If you're interested in ordering a sample copy of "The Beacon", go to www.lucistrust.org, hover over the "Publications Store" tab and click on "The Beacon Magazine" link. You can order a hard copy or download a copy in PDF format (free). My paper will appear in an early 2010 edition.Glenn
Hi! My name's Glenn. I'm a student at University of New England (UNE), Armidale, NSW who has this year been studying Diploma in Modern Languages but who has decided to transfer, and next year I will begin my BA (at UNE), majoring in English. I live in Melbourne and I'm therefore studying by correspondence. I'm married to a beautiful, young Thai woman named Chong, and we hope to start a family some time soon. To date, my contributions to Oz Reader have been three in number: three poems, with two more scheduled for publication on 20t September.
