25508 No, I really don't mind. You can do whatever you want, especially if it helps you deal with her loss. I mean everyone has their own ways of coping and managing and if this helps you/makes you feel better than I really think you should do it. I just know I won't be participating in a thread dedicated to Vi. I haven't even started coming to terms with it yet, especially since William died too... so I'm sorry, but I can't help with that one.

I'll definitely make time to start help tidying up the group and getting it back up and running. I think between the two of us we can do this! We should come up with a kind of loose schedule - like one week I'll post a newsletter, and the next week you can etc.

So yeah, if you want to put up a thread or anything in memory of Vi, go right ahead.

I think threads that aren't vampire related are fine, but need their own folder. I mean, it can be a vamp oriented group, but we need a little diversity somewhere because otherwise we run the risk of exhausting the topic haha.

Anywhoo, glad you decided to make some changes for our group. I was actually thinking about this last week and was working up the energy to start changes. Haha glad to know I won't be doing it by myself =D

25508 Don't delete the group. You can make your little memorial thing for Vi if you want too, I don't care. But I probably won't comment or be a part of that. But don't delete the group.
Maybe it's time to make some changes to it and get it back up and running

25508 I read Blood and Chocolate!! It takes a few dozen pages to get into the story, but once you do, it's impossible to put down! I loved it =D

25508 Oooohhhh nice choices =D

Raised by wolves was awesome! Thoroughly enjoyed that one, as well as the second in the series, Trial by Fire.
They're by Jennifer Lynne Barnes, BTW LOL.

Fantasy Lover was not bad, Love Kenyon's Chronicles of Nick series - be prepared to laugh your ass off. One of the most memorable moments for me was when Nick shot Bubba's Momma right between the eyes!!! Hahaha you'll get it when you read it LOL.

25508 Jevron, that's fine. We never really said no to people promoting their books.

I'm currently reading

Nightshade (Nightshade, #1) by Andrea Cremer and Drink Deep (Chicagoland Vampires, #5) by Chloe Neill

Love Drink Deep! Nightshade on the other hand is making me want to gouge my eyes out.

25508 I haven't read The Truth About Forever. Everytime I find it at the library I tend to put it back and not get it out.

I've read the following by her though:

That Summer
Along for the Ride
Just Listen
This Lullaby
Lock and Key
Keeping the Moon

And some of Dreamland.

For me, her work has mixed results. Some of her stories I really liked, others were a struggle to get through. Sometimes I find her work a little boring and over descriptive. Sometimes I feel it comes to to much of a standstill and a dozen words are used where one would do.
But then other times I've been surprised and really engrossed.
I particularly enjoyed Along for the Ride and Just Listen.

I think you should get those LOL. Last I looked, Whitcoulls was having a massive Sarah Dessen sale. All her books between $2 and $5 brand new! LOL bet you paid a bit more than that through mail. Not sure if the sale is still on though. I think they were just geting rid of old stock.
INTRODUCE YOURSELF! (1934 new)

25508 Dark Hunter, Lords of the Underworld, Black Dagger Brotherhood, all FREAKING FANTASTIC series!!!

Rachel Vincent (Shifter series)
Chloe Neill (Chicagoland Vampires)
Keri Arthur (Riley Jenson)
Jeaniene Frost (Night Huntress)
Patricia Briggs (Mercy Thompson)
Lili St. Crow (Strange Angels)

Haha just a few =D

Yeah, it's what I was going for! I might include series I've already started so that I can cross them off as finished
Feb 13, 2012 01:38AM

25508 LOL this is just my way of motivating myself to finish a series I start. So far its not working! LOL

25508 And I think so far my favourite book has been Vane's.

Haha yeah my list needs a bit of updating. I have all of the books sitting on my shelf in my room, just need to get round to reading them!
And yeah I'm well prepared for Acheron's book! It's the one I'm itching to read, but when I asked if I could just read it as a stand alone I got a huge lecture haha! So I have to wait and read the rest first.
I'm looking forward to Acheron's and Fang's books the most. They were the first two I bought in the series. Also can't wait to read Sundown's book, though a lot of people have been saying it's not so good.

25508 Ahahaha I know what you mean! I'm trying hard to knock mine down too. Only 2500 or something to go =D
That's why I've been raiding the library in town, trying to find them all so I can knock them off my list.

And yeah I have the same problem. Every time I read a book or browse the library I end up adding dozens to my TBR list haha!
Jan 25, 2012 11:55PM

25508 Ahahaha awesome! I found them on sale at Paper Plus once and immediately thought of you. But good that you finally ordered them.

Oh do you like the Fallen Angels series? I have Covet but haven't read it yet haha. And let me know what you think of the Demonica series by Larissa Ione. I have the first five, but haven't read those either.

I bought some books too! I bought Torment by Lauren Kate, Fang by James Patterson and one of the Midnight Breed books by Lara Adrian. Not going to read any of them as I've got a huge pile of library books to get through first, but at least I have them for later LMAO
Jan 24, 2012 10:26PM

25508 Yeah they should be. Though there are quite a few shor stories as well that i didnt list. I think I have the entire series on Ebook if you want me to email it to you. Including all of the shorts =D

25508 If you want to do this challenge you can make up your own rules for it. Like if you've read 3 out of 5 books to a series already, you can always put it down and then complete it this year.
I'm starting fresh, so only series that I haven't already started. But it's entirely up to you =D

Almost finished it, and not sure if I like it. I find Aislinn.... a bit whimpy. I mean, I feel she's entitled to some crying fits and bouts of 'w..."

Yeah Aislinn is really hard to read about, but I'm finding it's not so much her character as it is the writing style. Like I've finished Wicked Lovely, and am still confused on a whole lot of things. I get that it's a series and therefore not all needs to be revelaed. But for it to be a completed novel, we should at least have more of a sense of the structure of things - such as the courts, and the faery world.
Other things that had me miffed were the revelation of Aislinn's mother being chosen before her - I mean when they brushed over it in Aislinn's house, there were just a few lines said about it and then nothing. No mention of it later or any further details. It was just so lacking. I would have liked full explanations.
Same goes for how Donia could just get up and become the Winter Queen after everything happened. Like, there wasn't any explanation of how that was possible. There was no build up to the changing process. In fact, the Queen was killing her, breathing her cold into her to kill her, and then all of a sudden that's the reason she can become the new queen? Because she's carrying the cold? Then why did the others die that Beira did that too?

See, too many questions and not enough information. The writing style was erratic and jumpy, and conclusions scarce.
But I have the entire series out so I just started Ink Exchange. Not expecting much fromt his one lol!
Jan 23, 2012 11:40PM

25508 You should =D

Apart from Sins of the Night, I've absolutely loved the series. I know you'll love it!
Jan 23, 2012 11:37PM

25508 YYYYYAAAAAYYYY!!!! OMG you are going to LOOOVE Nykyrian! He is just the epitome of SEXY & DANGEROUS.

Do NOT waste any time in picking up Born of Night. I want to know what you think. Though it takes a few dozen pages to really get into the story, once you do, you won't be sorry!!

Oh, and Syn!!! Can't forget Syn, or Darling! Love em all, the characters and world were amazing

25508 I'm going to do a challenge where I read every book to a series for each letter. And since that just sounds confusing, here's a little example:

H: Hunger Games (3 books)
V: Vampire Academy (6 books)
W: Wicked Lovely series (5 books)
