rahul’s comments from the Existentialism group.

Over the course of history, so many notions that were thought to be true were disproved by scientific observation. From the top of my head, earth being the center of the Universe. On a philosophical level, any new knowledge that we receive should be accepted with a subtle humility( unsaid ) that says tomorrow I could be proved wrong.( Just my opinion )

Yes, Pink Floyd. I agree has existential undertones.

How about the Metallica song" The Day that never comes"..
How can I be lost, when I dono where I am going...
and other lines like these..

Dostovesky to me is the big daddy of all existential fiction writers. His writers are so philosophical, they just contain life and it's intricacies within them. Camus, Beckett I love too. And of course Mr.Kafka for he incorporated magic realism into philosophy into fiction and created things never read before.

Being and Nothingness is a very big book, both in terms of size and the ideas it tries to put forward.

As you read the Stranger and get your feet wet with the ideas of Existentialism , you should try exploring more Existential fiction and then go for the essays and such.

The book I would suggest to you would be The Stranger Albert CamusThe Stranger.

It is one of the more accessible books, and it is fiction. Unless, you want to jump into direct philosophy of Existentialism, this book would be a good place to begin.Also, this is a short book, that you can finish in less than 20 days.

Other books that are at the top of my mind are
Nausea and
Notes from Underground.

But these should not be read in a hurry(my suggestion)
