Not to discourage you from working hard but... I had a doughy (in mind and girth) mate who got an OP 23 - failed all but one subject, who last year completed a bachelor of computer engineering from UQ. He got accepted into Griffith doing accounting, transferred mid semester to QUT and took up comp engineering. At the end of his first year he had transferred all of his credit to UQ. To get into that degree straight outta high school he needed an OP 2. Once you have your foot in the door you are golden. Anyway good luck, I hope they have something awesome to go with the pain of yr 12, Senior camp? Overseas trip (I went skiing in NZ - best memory of High School)? Formal?
Sophie wrote: "im gonna go into uni.. im trying to get a part-time job at the moment so i can just hav a little extra cash without having to pester my parents for it, lol. im actually not too sure wat my novel is..."At the moment I am just doing some freelance work while trying to get this book together... If you are looking at a career that earns you money journalism is not the best choice (not that creative writing is much better :)). Hope your first week of year 12 wasn't to painful - my recollections included teachers preaching fire and brimstone if your marks drop, I can't imagine too much has changed...
Sophie wrote: "Happy Aussie day to u too =] yeah i live in Brisbane. my novel is going okay i guess.. kinda stuck in a bit of a rutt bcoz im getting ready for school- starting grade 12 tomorrow, am totally dreadi..."Actually I came into this group a little late so I am still very much in the research stage (the working title is 'You Can't Run Without A Forehead). Final year hey... don't worry too much, it flys past. What then? Uni? Job? World Tour? What is your novel about?
Sophie wrote: "Hey Ryan. where abouts in Aussue r u from? "Hi Sophie. From Cairns and Brisbane originally but the last couple of years I have lived in Roma (5 hours north-west of Toowoomba). I take it you are an Aussie as well - happy Australia day btw - where are you from? How goes the novel?
Hi everyone, I'm Ryan a 23-year-old Aussie. Have just finished two years work as a journalist in Roma (the bush kind, not Rome - unfortunately. I am now looking to write something a bit more substantial than CWA (Country Womens Association) articles.
