Yes, one of my favorite scenes is when Bond decides not the kill Dragon, and throws his knife at the wall calendar instead. He hit's the 14th.

Love the novel and film... some say if Sean Connery had played Bond in that one, it would be the #1 of the series. Personally, I don't know if I would be able to buy Connery's Bond taking that emotional roller coaster. It would quite an interesting departure!
