Welcome. My name is Kyla. I am your 2010-2011 school year BookClub President.

*What is expected?

As a member of The BookClub you are expected to read 75% of the books issued or 'picked' by all bookclub members. By that I mean if four books are issued every two months you should have read three books within this two month time frame.

*Do I have to be reading the same book as the other
members?

As a member of bookclub you should WANT to read the same books as everyone else. What else is a bookclub good for? Discussion people. We read. We understand. We analyze. And we respond.

For the month of Feb. book club has decided to have its members read either/or both, The Lovely Bones and Dear John. In this discussion you should only post if you HAVE read one or the other. START DEBATING!!

So what is a book club? Why do we love to get together and discuss books? What can you learn from other readers at a book club meeting?

A book club, also referred to as a reading group, is a collection of readers who participate in the regular discussion of books. Traditionally, a book club consists of several members who meet in person each month to talk about a specific work.
