Hi Tess,
I've always meant to go past the Jack Kerouac House...his name and number were still in the local phonebook until maybe 8-10 years ago, which I thought was pretty cool. Getting ready to reread On The Road, then to hit Darma Bums. Don't quite understand how some people don't like reading... :)
Have started a new blog about reading. It can be found at: http://welcome-to-the-reading-room.bl....
I know what you mean, Joan. It is a little difficult at times to pick one. I keep going back to "To Kill A Mockingbird." But then, I'm periodically thinking, "I love this book...and that..." There are times when it's a matter of the mood I'm in, time of year, etc. as to what makes it to, say, my favorite top 10 books.
My favorite book is "To Kill A Mockingbird" by Harper Lee. While I've read many books that I've gone through several times, this is my favorite. I'm probably on my tenth copy of the book (at least).
Anyone else read this? I've started it mainly because I'd read the original Dewey book. I had planned to start Winter's Bone but was going through a weird funky mood and wanted a feel-good book. Not sure that this'll be as good as the original, but am determined to work through it...
I so hoped to enjoy this book, as I really love reading Anne Lamott. But somehow, I just could not get into "Joe Jones." Will probably give it another try in 6 months or so...
I've just started "Joe Jones: A Novel" by Anne Lamott while listening (again) to "Plan B" by Lamott on tape. For some reason, I tend to have anywhere from two to four books going at the same time. Not sure why, unless it's to enjoy a wide variety at once.
